Shouldn't make more than £115.

Then again, it's eBay - anything's possible

All you need is two people who really want it, i.e. it's the last one that they need to complete the set.

So if you want a bargain let me know, if not I wll probably sell on eBay for double !!

Have you taken a decision yet regarding to who will be able to buy one of your LM books? I have sent you several pm's but never got any response...

Whilst we are on the subject of Le Mans Books, i was wondering how rare a 1984 Le mans 24 hour " Australian Assault " book is. I bought it in 1990 whilst travelling the country, and contains what i think is the official manual, but complimented with articles on 7 Aussies who were competing in the event, most notably the defending champion, Vern Schuppan, and an article entitled " The day i led le Mans " by Alan Jones. Lancia LC2 front row that year, so a personal favourite of mine.

This is the orange hardback with the Bob Jane 956 on the front? If so, it appears quite frequently on eBay, always as a 'rare' item, but in essence you can pick one up quite easily.

A good book and the 'number 1' on the cover suggests they contemplated a follow up, but the assualt only lasted one year!

I don't think I've seen one sell for more than £25, but others may have reached a higher figure.

Thanks. I didn't think it was that rare, seeing as it was reduced and only cost $3 aussie dollars, and was still on sale 6 years after the race !!!!! Like many people, i could never part with my Le Mans books, or any other motor racing books for that matter.

Who is the author? I think I have the same book but with a different cover, one of the NewMan Porsches.

So at best estimates, at least £25 down?

Trouble is with Ebay, if you bung on a high reserve, not only do you pay through the nose for the listing, but you run the risk of putting people off. I wonder what would have happened had this guy put a £100 reserve on it? Would the chap who ultimately bought it for £90 have paid an extra tenner to get it - I suspect so.........

I think so as well. It would be interesting to know what it would have taken to outbid him.

I didn't buy the French editions when they were first issued, but bought them all a little while ago - at an average price of £29 each.

But then look at this:-

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...965981066&rd=1

A bit over the top?
