Great shots Paul, particularly the Mk1 Escort. I wonder if you'd used a polarising filter if you might even have got the drivers face - but that would be prety tricky.

Great shots Paul, fancy bumping into you here, really wish I had gone to the Dukeries. Are you going to the Colin McRae stages tomorrow?
Cheers Ian |

Apro pro nothing at all. There's a great photo of two Morgan three wheelers posted by Kelvin in this http://tentenths.com/forum/showthrea...threadid=39965 thread.

Welcome Bentos.Great Pics.
Rally pictures always seem to convey a greater sense of excitment than circuit pics. Must be the dust trails. |

Hello all,
My first post too [only just discovered this forum ]. I don't have a very long memory for shots because I shoot so many but here's one I took up at Croft last week which I quite liked. More stuff at the link at the bottom of the page if you're interested. Jason. www.tsuphoto.com/motorsport |

You're a bit handy with a camera by the looks of it Jason..
That's up at the chican after Hawthorns I think, I've got a great picture of one of the MG's in 2002 there on my wall. |

hehe.
Right about the location, a bit of a severe crop due to a marshall on the inside of the track [if only they wore camouflage jackets!]. A great spot to shoot from but tricky because you're unsighted by the tyres for this angle. Much easier to shoot side-on but I don't like the shot as much. J |

Cheers Stefan - polarising filter is on my shopping list when I can afford it!!
Hi Ian, sadly won't be at the Mcrae stages, I was planning to go up for that and the British Offroad event at Kinross, but unfortunately, I'm a bit skint at the moment, and all events are on hold until sept probably. |

Hi LittleX, I find rally cars always look like they're moving on gravel, much more difficult (for me anyway) to convey speed on tarmac events - although Jason's shot is v.cool!

thx.
I like Rally shots a lot too and I'd love to do some Rally shots. The only snag is I live miles away from any decent Rally events Also, it may be just me, but it seems really hard to find out where/when rallies are being held in the UK whereas circuit racing is always really well publicised. J |

Jean Alesi, Donington 2002. Poor quality scan from a matt finish photograph, but I've had a 30x20 inch poster created from the original negative which looks so much better.

Wednesday 18 June 2003. Nick Heidfeld (Sauber). It's the result of my attempt to capture an F1 car "side-on". I nearly got all the car in the picture.

Loads of great photos here people
I take very few motorsport pics these days, the one exception being at Le Mans where I take loads. The only problem is that as time goes on and getting into decent spots for pics without a media pass gets harder and harder, I seem to have a greater proportion of really naff shots. I guess this is still one of my favourites (probably as it features one of my all time fave cars!):- http://www.aysedasi.btinternet.co.uk...page2/9822.jpg and similarly http://www.aysedasi.btinternet.co.uk...page2/9823.jpg Just one more for the moment - quite a poignant one..... http://www.aysedasi.btinternet.co.uk...page2/9734.jpg |

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to contribute more than one picture (if so, please delete this), but this is Renault at the British Grand Prix. It was taken at 8.33am on Friday 18 July.

Ayse, that first one's beautiful - as soon as you see it all the noise and speed comes right back to you. Was it taken through a fence? Whenever I try that I still get the thick horizontal cables like this...
http://www.pbase.com/image/18913518 Actually now that I look at it again I can see that your fence is further away than mine - so the cables don't interfere so much. Where was it taken? Last edited by stefan; 28 Jul 2003 at 08:36. |
