will he dump all of the races in Europe and the American GPs in 2 years as well then?
I wouldn't have any objection to the Canadian govt giving the race a 2 year exemption, but I think this is more about Bernie trying to scare Europe out of its legislation - and I don't think he has any right to do that. |

yeah, he's just trying to have his way with the world's governments. In two years, there will be a permenant ban in the US and Europe too... does that mean that in 2006 there will be no Grand Prix in Norht America or Europe.... I doubt that some how, but that's what Bernie wants us to believe.

We can discuss his methods, no doubt, but from governments standpoint, when they state tobacco ad bans, they cannot be astonished if it implies losing F1 races; it's a natural consequence, until the teams will have found alternative sponsors.
I'd just like to remind that this problems doesn't concern only F1: most motorsport venues (auto, bike, etc) nowadays still live on tobacco. Last edited by climb; 27 Aug 2003 at 13:57. |

Yeah, well, Bernie's got to come to grips with it. Frank Williams has.
Moving all the races from Europe is death to F1, and he knows it. |
