Yeah and I would add Bill Tuckey as well. Probably our best ever motoring writer for road and track.

So having not read a copy of AA for at least 3-4 years, I now notice that Ten-Tenths' own Branners is now working for them. Considering the regular thinly veiled insults thrown AA's way by those at MNews, does anyone find this a little surprising?

Interesting to see that AA now seems to have a 2 week production cycle, next issue 26/10...
Is that a funeral march I hear? |

I think they realized that they will never be able to compete on news. I expect they'll move to essentially just feature articles in the next few months.
Now point competing with speedcafe or motorsport.com when it's faster and free. |

So think they've skipped one week by having a couple of 10 day or so day gaps between publications. |

Sad day to see the demise of Auto Action.
Seems to be a lot of Speedway magazines on the shelf these days, but circuit racing magazines seems to be on a downward spiral. My Brock tribute AA, may become valuable! |

Sadly, print media relating to this sort of thing is very much a dying trade.

Sad on one hand, but totally, not surprising on the other.
Seriously....who buys magazines these days? I go into the local news agents, from time to time to do the lotto, and there's still racks of them on display. But everyone except a lot of the older brigade, have a device to get instantaneous news and current affairs on all subjects, immediately at hand. The last time I thought about buying a motorsport mag was at an airport about six months ago. From memory they were asking about $8.00 or so. I had a quick browse through one, before I threw it back on the shelf and had to double check the date on the cover, as the so-called news/information was that dated. |
