The engine was actually fine-ish in years past... not quite up to snuff, but not so bad that they should be trundling around 5 seconds behind the class pace.

On another note, why the hell does the ALMS website say the race starts at 1? I missed the first hour now! Seriously, wtf? Is the international feed working for anyone, it's not for me.
I can only assume they were counting down to US TV coverage?

Yes it's for the espn2 feed. alms.com, espn3 via Xbox live,and watch espn app have been working good for me.

I believe it was explained during laguna seca when risi got consecutive penalties for speeding.i believe they said something about marker beacons, and speed limit having to be meet at or before them if its after then its considered speeding.its also up to the driver to hit the limiter.

Noticed the time issue on the website last night...pulled open the pdf schedule, figured out what time zone Bowmanville, ON was in, then did the math.

Dumb question. In the vette qualifying accident replay (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkMogulO_RM) after the vette hit the wall and spun you can see Jan punch it a bit. The front left wheel then spins up and throws a lot of dirt. How is this since it's RWD?

It was just sliding while still continuing forward a little.

I thought the same thing when I saw it, very strange.

Saw this on ESPN2 and was wondering the same thing. The tire comes to a complete stop, briefly, then spins up quite a bit. Bizarre.

They explained when it happened during quali that the wheel had momentum---wheel and tires spinning really quickly and having a lot of inertia.

Good deal---they missed another important pass.

There was a good back and forth between viper and corvette for a couple corners from the in car camara but the feed missed it for a sightseeing shot of mosport. Figures.
