Anyone watch the Nitro finale over the weekend?

Wasn't too sure on the late introduction of dropped scores; moving the goal posts so late in the day potentially seemed like a cheap way of making the finale more dramatic. Glad to see Larsson take the title though. I'd have been gutted for him if he had lost it this weekend thanks to the late rule change and/or some on track nonsense as he has been quick and consistent all season.

Based on the teaser during the last stream it looks like round one for the next season will be Oklahoma. Perhaps a bit soon to jump to conclusions, but can we rule out Nitro returning to Europe next season?

I totally missed this weekend (not that I had the chance to watch it live). I saw some highlights, the Glen Helen track is pretty fun.

Hmmmm. I suppose it is good that they are acknowledging the fact the series isn't really "rallycross", new name sounds tacky as hell to me, but maybe the kids will love it.

Interesting to see how the series fares with a more limited calendar this season. Assuming it is still around in a couple of years, I'd be very surprised to see it leaving the US again any time soon.

No RX Cartel this season? I wonder if the "new" cars VSC were talking about running might be the two FC1-X that the Cartel drivers were using last year?

Shame for the Championship if Larsson isn't back to defend his title. Seems as though the live broadcast will be exclusively through Rumble now as well?

Nice rollecoaster track, but cars would quickly spread out.

The 2023/24 season finale will be held in Las Vegas, near the Strip, on the same weekend as the Nascar race at the oval.

I see Nitro is (perhaps unsurprisingly) the first adopter of the new OMSE/First Corner FC2, with the NEXT category switching to the FC2 for 2024:

Nitrocross - FC2 Adopted For NEXT Evo Class in 2024



Chassis, transmission and diffs from a Lite, with different bodywork and a different engine. Turbo four pot with 450 bhp, rising to 550 bhp with push to pass boost. Quite a jump in power for the support class!

I wonder how heavily reworked (if at all?) the Lite chassis is for this?

I stopped watching the races live when they made the change, absolutely no way I am viewing through Rumble.

...perhaps I am reading more into it than intended, but I get the sense that the teams had no idea this was coming?

I wonder if the RallyX release about going international means they are looking to pick up the pieces and try and get something going again?
