That's so disappointing. This had the potential to be such a great race and it seems like we'll have to wait this one out if it doesn't get suspended/cancelled entirely.

There was one Group C race at Fuji that had to be stopped & ended due to rain if I remember correctly. So this is not the first time.

Waiting it out only makes sense if the conditions are possible to improve. Either way, if the drivers say it is too wet to race then that shouldn't be argued against.

Well, the word is that the weather is due to get a little bit better before it gets worse again.

Question is, does it make sense to go racing for an hour only to stop again?

Perhaps Suzuka would have made a better choice. . Meteorologically, which has the better record: Suzuka or Fuji?

I always worry that things like this will make teams question going racing. And spectators too...

Well for Toyota, it very much remains an opportunity missed. To prepare that second car and to put all that effort into impressing the home fans and the big whigs...and the cars are just sitting on the grid, with a dripping wet cloth over the top of them with the clock running down. Not good.

Scheduling their new WEC event on the same day as a classic race that they ditched from the ILMC to play on another Ecclestonedrome down in Texas for. More spectators at PLM than WEC Texas and Fuji combined.

But let's not get into that one right now...

The reasons for dropping the PLM have been explained time and time again, stop beating a dead horse.

The race in the Ecclestonedrome was actually really good and the drivers seem to like that track as well. So the decision played out rather well.

And as far as scheduling it on the same day, who does that really hurt? Don't kid yourself, even if the PLM was a week before or after a WEC round, none of the WEC teams would be going.

So what is the difference really? There's only so many weekends in a year and being a major FIA series, the WEC's main concern is to avoid clashes with F1.

Next year, there probably won't be space at Road Atlanta for non full-season entries anyways

But back to the topic, though I probably won't stay up for the race, I hope Toyota has some good rain tires ready.

One has to wonder how much of a race there will be, the conditions look like they're worsening..still.

I know the reasons, doesn't make it any better that the ACO seem to constantly .

And being a 'major FIA series' these days seems to involve racing in front of no one but some people on a corporate jolly (including f1 half the time), so my personal preference will be the bigger event every time.

I'm not here to squabble, so I won't, but I genuinely wonder how many WEC fans and F1 fans crossover compared to ALMS/TUSC ones, I honestly don't know the answer to that.
