I don't understand why that needs to be pointed out, of course it's not competing for overall wins because it isn't in the top class. Isn't it logical that multi-class racing would have cars competing in different classes?

I'm not really a Toyota/Scion fan but the FR-S is pretty cool compared to the rest of their line-ups. The GTS races have been pretty decent, so it's a good addition in my opinion, more variety we have the better.

Was not TRG supposed to race a Vantage GT3 in WC? or did get that wrong?

If someone pays them to do so, yes.

All those cars and only one Porsche! With GMG's switch to Audi that's a big loss for Porsche in terms of numbers... I wonder if there are any other entries waiting out there.

Should be a blast to watch with the two Mercedes thrown into the mix. Pappas, although a pro-am driver, is pretty good behind the wheel usually. Very curious to see how he does in the first couple races.

That's seven manufacturers in GT. Allowing GT3 cars has helps to add variety. Let's see how costs develop.

In GTS, there's 10 different models!

SCCA have pulled a proper coup on GT racing in North America. Pull in some of the big teams from Europe and we may see this once overlooked (In comparison to Grand Am and ALMS) series suddenly gaining attention. However if this means we may see teams from the US producing GT3's then I'm praying for the very slim chance of a GT3 sixth generation Shelby GT500 happening.

That's great news from McLaren! I have a question though about the Audi R8 LMS (2010-2011); is the Audi R8 ultra (2012) eligible or not? I assume that as the 2012 McLaren MP4-12C is, then the Audi R8 ultra is also.

So far nobody has brought an Ultra to to World Challenge, and even the regular old R8s had to be down-spec'ed.

I guess the McLaren would have to be down-speced even further. Also there is a kit to bring thew R8 to ultra-specs, so I supposse you could "kit down" an ultra to regular GT3 spec also. (Or maybe simply order an old spec car from Audi).

Only neutered old spec GT3 cars are allowed. Even the Z4 is 2010 spec.

Wondering what Black Swan had to do to their SLS to make it fit the rules ?

But then, using the older spec cars might not be a bad idea, there are plenty of those around.

The sixth-gen Mustang will be a global cars. So chances of a race GT3 / GTE version of it is more than slim.

Do you also like fat chicks? I can't figure out how somebody could think the Merc SLS is ugly. Sure I'm not a fan of the chrome, but the body lines are pretty darn good!

I'm nearly as excited for the WC season to start as I was the ALMS @ Sebring, which says something.
