It is going to be tough sledding in GTD with so many competitive cars around, but Legge is definitely happy with the car at Daytona. A podium at any race will feel like a victory this year.

Pretty fun Michelin Pilot Challenge race to kick off their season. Now for the big one tomorrow.
Temps and humidity seems to be higher than in recent years (and certainly higher than when I was last there, shivering, in 2019). Porsche seemed to have focused on managing their tires during practice. Degradation was a big issue for them last year. Meanwhile I'd never rule out Acura (or just WTR), no matter what the owner may say. Better to be a pessimist and manage expectations than come out all guns blazing. I'm pretty sure that's the Wayne Taylor way. |

Sorry but yet again the BoP was woeful in that race, the M4 was literally miles an hour quicker than everything else, in the VP race it was Mustangs, have they been pinged, as today or last night it was clearly the M4, Foley and his mate literally passing a car a lap after their late stop, makes the whole class look a little silly at times this unbalanced BoP stuff. They were just pulling out almost without a draft.

GTP best laps through ROAR, qualifying and practice. Ordered in Top 100.
Average Lap time
Total spread is 0.992s of top 100 lap averages. With a Standard Deviation of 0.279s. BMW sneaky there. Cadillac have the advantage on pace, as was noticeable in just qualifying. Porsche are more in it with Penske than the others. Although the fastest Porsche was less consistent compared to the others (see chart). Acura not in the position they were last year. Although everyone has decent lap times verses last year. It's looking competitive, but Cadillac go in with the advantage... |
