Unless Ross has bought another one along the way, it would have to be wouldn't it? I remember that the Palmer NSX was raced by Sir Jack at the Eastern Creek 12 Hour in 1995 in a mostly black livery, but can't remember seeing another NSX out there (Palmer-owned or otherwise).

Along the lines of Sierras, what happened to all the Tony Longhurst Sierras? I know one sits in the Bathurst museum and I think there's another one up at Norwell at the Driving Centre, but what of the other two? I know the two 1990 cars were sold to Brian Bolwell, the other sold to Bryan Sala and the Bathurst-winner went to Ken Mathews (this is the car in the Bathurst museum; it would have to be, wouldn't it?), so where are they now?

By the way, has anyone got a list of Perkins Engineering Group A Commodore chassis numbers lying around? I think I know the sequence of the cars built up until 1989 and when/where they were raced, but the having the actual numbers of the cars up until the end of Group A would be a nice thing to have in the database. In case you're wondering, I'm trying to put together a database of cars used during Group A for DJR, Brock, B&H, Perkins and any other top-line teams from the time. I can't remember why I started, but I assume it was for my own amusement...I'm certainly not being paid

For anyone who's interested, the DJR list is reasonably complete. Whether it's actually accurate, however...

Incidentally, were the two 1991 Brock VN Commodores given PE chassis numbers?

The Bathurst winning Sierra was still in use with the team when Group A came to an end, and that car is now in the DJR Museum.

The RX7 that was on the east coast of Tassie was owned by Garry Atkins and ran in the then named Club Cars. It was the ex Murry Carter Valintines card car and has since gone back to the mainlaind.

I think the DJR Sierra is from Dick's collection and is on loan to the Tasmanian museum.

Yep, thje two 1991 Mobil Commodores were given PE chassis numbers - don't have them with me but can look them up ...

Actually, the one in Bathrust is called the National Motor RACING Museum.

It's in Sport Sedan Trim now but will be converted by the end of the year by its new owner Scott Nicholas

There sure is, I was in it last year. Mostly road cars and motorcycles. A few race cars were there like Simon Wills Birrana F Holden, an Elfin F5000, Leo Geoghegan's Charger, a Moffat 351 Falcon and maybe a few others I don't remember. I don't remember seeing any Group A or later V8 Supercars there.

It's a pretty nice museum next to an old mill and cafe. I think it is worth the visit if you are in the area. It probably took me 3 hours to go through.

I am also collecting chassis historys. I have started HRT and it is reasonably accurate. Having troubles with the first couple of years 88,89 and 90.
I have also managed to aquire other Holden teams as well.

Like you I am not sure why I am doing it. Myself and a mate were talking about it one day and since then in has grown into a detailed list which sometimes causes great head aches.

I would be interested in looking at your Brock and PE list to compare what we have and to see if we can help one another.

Noonz....to quote you from your own chassis listing, the two 1991 Mobil Commodores were chassis 012 & 013.

While we are at it, can you please confirm for me that the chassis that the second Smith's Trucks Commodore that is an ex. Paul Morris car is the chassis they called 'Astro'.

The second car that Morris built was called Bamm Bamm and I believe that is the car that Team Kiwi is using.

Morris' car that was damaged in NZ is called Colin, and I believe the new chassis for Hidden Valley is called Daisy.

Can you confirm them for me please?

The SMiths Trucks VX that Gurr was driving is Bamm Bamm. Astro is the car Bairdo is driving for TKR. Morris did drive Colin up to this weekend, where Daisy debuted. Hope this helps!

Thanks for that. I was a bit confused that the VX is the 2nd of the Morris cars, yet the 1st (Astro) was the one converted to a VY.

OK, where does Paul Morris get those names for his cars? A little harder to follow, but much more interesting than 001, 002, 003 etc.

Astro and Bamm Bamm were cartoon characters, from the Jetsons and the Flintstones respectively. Colin was named for Paul's Formula Ford era mechanic who had then recently died. Daisy.... welllll I dunno.

Brad Jones also used to nick name his cars from Jetsons characters, so there is another Astro somewhere, but also had BJR numbers.

Also the first letter of each name progresses through the Alphabet, so all we need to do is find a cartoon character that starts in 'E' and it will be a fair bet for Paul Morris Motorsports fifth Holden.
