That's the top end of the typical budget requests, of course since there are so many cars you may do a deal for less. Prizes have basically doubled within two years and now the series is too expensive for what it is but there is still strong demand so...

Nico Muller has signed with Jenzer and Rio Haryanto according to indonesian media has signed with Manor.

Shame, Mark Webber, shame. You should resign - or be sacked - as 'patron' of the Australian Motor Sport Foundation. Not that the AMSF is doing all that much (I hear they only 'lend' $A30-50K, which is a drop in the bucket, to their International Rising Stars), but you're doing stuff-all to help your country's up-and-coming drivers get a foothold in international racing.

As for potential Aussie candidates at MW Arden, Daniel Erickson should have been right in the frame after his promising 2009 BFFC season and excellent US Star Mazda test (check out www.danielerickson.com.au).

He never said he was going to sign an Australian driver. I know he said he was going to try to encourage Australian talent but he also added that it may not be possible to sign one just yet - there's a financial reality out there. He didn't enter just for the sole purpose of creating an Australian team with Australian drivers - it is just the Arden team but Mark has a stake in it

Money talks, but I guess Mark Webber could have chosen much worse drivers than the reigning F3 SudAm Champion, a FBMW frontrunner and a F.Renault frontrunner. I'm not sure if any Aussie driver (except Ricciardo of course) would do better than them.

Rio Haryanto will do GP3 with Manor and 6 rounds of the British F3 more than likely with West-tec

Carlin will draft in Max Chilton (GP2 Ocean), Adriano Buzaid (BF3 Carlin) & Lucas Foresti (BF3 Hitech) for the Paul Ricard test, so no evaluating 2010 drivers for them yet:
