How did Heidfeld manage 3rd? wow... ITV said he was 9th when it started to rain. Did he pit going into the last lap or the lap before? If this is/was the case would Massa have finished ahead (on the track) of Lewis if he had gone in for inters on the last lap?
How about we keep this thread for discussing the race and leave the other threads for the madness |

Any idea why Heikki has "Transmission" down as his "Time/Retired" Did he have a failure? Does it affect his next race? http://www.formula1.com/results/seas...6/results.html |

Well if you retire with engine trouble you get a new one so why should Heikki be penalized?

if it fails and they need to change it before the minimum life of the item, they usually get a penalty for the change. not sure about gearbox but engine definately (apart from the free one they get for a first failure).
amazingly all we'll talk about at work today is the FIA, rather than one of the most nail biting finishes to a race we've seen in years |

There were waved yellows for the spinning Williams in the closing stages of the race. Kimi took a place under waved yellows, something the FIA chose to penalise Glock for but conveniently overlooked on this occasion.

Adding 25 seconds to Raikkonen's time isn't really going to amount to much is it.

but that isn't the only sanction that can be applied. A driver of his experience should know the meaning of waved yellows. |

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought Hamilton went off the track.. Both him and Kimi were out wide on the slippy stuff? Both nearly ran into the recovering car. Kimi had a bit more time to react and was able to stay on the track. Was he supposed to follow Lewis off the track and stay behind? Non issue in my view.. but if Kimi is to be dealt with then surely Lewis is in the same boat? As I say.. correct me if I am wrong

Both drivers were in a sector under waved yellows
Both drivers had to take avoiding action due to the obstruction caused by another car One driver chose to capitalise on this to gain a place No action taken by the governing body on this occasion. Cougar, I think we will have to agree to disagree on this point. |

I would of thought that Trulli would of got a penalty with his stupid re-entry after spinning at the final chicane. What was he thinking rejoining in the middle of the racing pack on lap 1.

Ok here's the question - if someone goes off under yellows and you pass them, is that legal? Do you have to cede the position when they return?
Also Timo was penalised for passing under yellows, there was no footage, but didn't Nick do the same? http://www.fia.com/en-GB/sport/champ...lap_chart.aspx Nick gained several positions on the last two laps which was after Kimi crashed while the yellows were waving. Why is this not mentioned anywhere? |

what a race !
what a farce!! The decision just shows the contempt the FIA shows the fans F1 is no longer for the fans, big business drives F1 and no bigger is Ferrari. The moves between Hamilton & Raikkonen were no different when Hill & Schumacher went wheel to wheel. I have watched less & less of the F1 coverage this year and i may watch the night race but it's NASCAR for me as the show is for the fans |
