Ferrari in the pits for slicks.
The number 8 is on slicks as well, they should be in the front soon. |

I assume the hesitation on putting on slicks is getting stuck in traffic.

Buemi up to 7 place, about to pass the porsche and the vanwall.
Huge gamble paying off for some of these teams. |

Weird from the Ferrari. Doesn't bode well for night racing. Looked like they were stuck on the pit limiter they were so slow.

A lot of drivers are having to re-learn tire driving basics. This is the real problem when one has been used to "driving aids" for too long.
Bringing tires up to temp, stinting them, getting the most out of a set,... this seems to be a lost art. |

Not sure why really. He's the most decorated driver in the history of the modern era WEC. The only guy who really gets close to him is Hartley, but he's in the same car.
You'd think he'd be more chill after over a decade with the team. |

As I was typing "This is going to be interesting coming out of the pits with fresh cold tires" the vanwall goes off track.

Regarding Buemi, maybe this is his way of motivating himself, similarly to Hamilton/Verstappen.
Whatever works behind the wheel, I suppose. |

The number of 6 Porsche dropped from 2 to 4 in the pits, anybody knows why?

The #8 got ahead due to a quicker stop, presumably the Cadillac did the same.

That car jumped a bit to the left when he came off the curbs.
