Tough pill to swallow mate.
Little wonder the Radical SR9 has not been sold in more volume despite its low price, with this type of service. Best of luck, hope to see you guys back on this continent later in the spring. |

Bigsi,
Sorry to hear you won't be competing. We are looking forward to your return to give the Audi's a good run. Wish you all the best. It's been nice to get your insider view point. Please keep that up as it's great information for those of us who are interested in racing but don't know much about what goes on beyond the grandstands, parking lots and camp grounds. DK |

What was the problem with the homologation papers?

I believe the ACO simply didn't receive them in time.

It is just not RECIEVING the papers, the scurtineers must go though the car too. Way before any racing comes about.
bigsi we all feel your pain, your F'n pain. Hopefully 'THE TEAM' will understand one just does NOT show up and HOPE things are OK. Good Luck in the future bigsi. We are all pulling for you |

The car must be seen in person. The pictures do it no justice. Friday afternoon, in the Florida sun, it was absolutely georgeous.

The Radical was very sharp looking. These pictures do it justice, but then again I am biased :P

Looks like you threw a filter on it there to make it even brighter.

The359,
No filters were used. Its just part of the post processing. I am still working on my Sebring pictures. I shot over 40 gigs worth of images, so I have a lot to go though still! Back home and nearly over the jet lag!
The photos look great but I am still struggling with the disappointment of not running. We will be having plenty of debriefing sessions after Ian is back from his dads funeral today.Ian lost his dad the friday before we flew to sebring!! If you look closely there is a tribute to him on the nose of the car. We will be having a few shakedowns/practice sessions at both Snetterton and we think Le Mans Buggati. The press and fans at Sebring were just amazing. We will be back at Salt Lake City initially we said 2 cars but we will concentrate on 1 and if that goes well we will put in 2. |

Ben came in on the Tuesday flight as he was doing some Bond stunt driver training and flew back when IMSA and ACO said no go.
Very gutted but we got all the driver basics done in the car as we are all very tall interchangability in the car is major important. |

See from Murphy that the ECO Radical is looking unlikely for Salt Lake City.
Anyone got any insights into what might be the story behind this? It would be very sad to see this one sink into Spinnaker like obscurity so very much hope either the Bear has got the wrong end of the stick on this or that there's a decent reason for the car not appearing. |

Was an EOC Radical crash tested per ACO homolagation requirenments? That was part of the hang up for Sebring. The Paper work was sent in to the ACO, but was not reviewed in time, nor was info on a crash test provided, or something like that.
SO building just ONE Prototype unfortunitly wont make it. Need to build at least two or three and crash test one. Hard to build a 1/2 million Plus dollar race car just to crash test it. |

Still working on getting the chassis homolagated, hence the delay until July (at least at this point).
AU N EGL; From what I remember this is an exercise in getting the SR9 chassis to pass the P-1 testing to be homologated as an SR10. I could be wrong but I do not think that they are crash tested (destroyed) but are stress tested, and if up to snuff there is no damage! L.P. Last edited by HORNDAWG; 23 Apr 2008 at 16:47. |
