Thx. They announced an extended AsLMS programm for this year IIRC but how about a (partial) WEC participation?

They received an automatic invitation to the 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans by way of scoring 2nd in the AsLMS GTC class last year. So now they have a GTE-Am entry on the cards... but as far as participation outside the AsLMS or Le Mans, I doubt it.

KCMG confirm for the WEC and Le Mans - but maybe not with a Morgan?

Sorry for multi post,
Japanese news website rumours that Japanese automaker introduces new FIA-GT3 car into GT300 class. So it may be a new GT3 car. RC-F? Sorry, I've checked out the Japanese explanation. It's new GT500 chassis. Not new FIA GT3 car. Last edited by Japanese Samurai; 7 Jan 2014 at 09:39. |

Another one to add to the rumour pile - Hindy says on Twitter that a WTCC team is planning to join the WEC.
https://twitter.com/specutainment/st...41028178075648 I assume that's the team Graham Goodwin was referring to the other week. There might be more info during the Dubai24 coverage tomorrow? |

From the Audi R18 thread--it was reported last month that Andre Lotterer crashed one of the R18 test cars in the Audi private test at Sebring. Andre walked away unhurt, but the significant part here is a report in the same article that the new car may've run a lap 1.4 seconds faster than the pole time from 2013.
So that means we'll be looking possibly at the cars certainly being as fast, if not faster, than the old LMP1 machinery out of the gate, perhaps significantly faster. The new cars are narrower in track and have narrower tires, but they're a bit lighter and probably have a lot more power both from the hybrid systems and the engines themselves. And the second system that Audi are now testing sounds a lot like what the ACO/FIA discouraged Audi from running on the R18 last year, so imagine how much faster that car could've been last year with both systems on it--certainly could've cancelled out a lot of the limits of the 120km/h limiter on front wheel drive hybrids. And, reportedly, Audi weren't running the second hybrid system in a fully operational mode... |

Hmmm... All-Inkl Münnich Motorsport comes to my mind first. They'll be racing in the new WTCC TC2 Class this year, and they've had lots of experience in GT racing; in fact, that's their area of expertise. Perhaps ROAL? They ran a BMW Z4 GT3 at the 24 Hours of Spa and some other Blancpain Endurance races... could they be making the move up to a higher place? Just food for thought... Quote:

All-Inkl Münnich is participating in Dubai with their Mercedes so 1 + 1 = 2?
Edit: ROAL does Blancpain Series (both Endurance and Sprint). Last edited by Coach Ep; 8 Jan 2014 at 08:45. |

No.
FIA-GT3 rumour is one rumour from Japan. "GT500" I mention is about another rumour (on this thread). "Lexus exhibits new GT500 vehicles (LF-CC) to Tokyo auto salon." |

Khaled al Quabasi is looking very closely at the WEC for this season with Abu Dhabi Racing. Class or car undecided, but it would be good to see the team there and more interest from that region.

Interesting quote from Stephane Ratel in his interview on DSC (just one of many, the piece makes for good reading!) re one of his BES stalwart teams:

They would be a welcome addition to the grid, plus they have been around LMP2 before.

Indeed, they are one of the best privateer teams in Europe and could take on any LMP2 or, for that matter, GTE-Pro team if they really put their mind to it. |

Does anyone have a potential entry list? It sounds like the grid will be bigger this season.
