Because Rosberg and Webber both advanced and went out on track after/at the same time as Hamilton, Massa and Alonso. It looks like Ferrari had the cars set up for dry running and the waiting was probably their only option. Looks like Merc and Red Bull had softened their cars and so Webber (pole) and Rosberg (P2) had run in the same conditions in the first round and weren't knocked out. McLaren seemed like they had softened the cars but maybe not enough for the inters or should have been on full wets as both cars had shown pace but could not advance. Button was held out of Q2 due to his spin and Hamilton lost his flyer with a spin toward the end of the lap, I believe.

I thought Martin Whitmarsh was excellent. EJ banged on about having to have the human factor even when Martin confirmed that it was a mistake by the humans in McLaren.

My Favourite 08 moment was when Courtney/Besnard comeback drive at Bathurst. Courtney raced through to dominate the opening stint had 15 sec. gap to Lowndes who was in 2nd. In the 2nd stint a slowly deflating tyre (originally diagnosed as a damaged anti-roll bar) slowed Besnard's stint in Courtney's car allowing Whincup to assert dominance over the field rest of the race. On lap 160 S.Richards, fading badly on rear tyres was unable to stop Courtney move into 3rd place.

So, do Red Bull realy have an ingenious ride-height ruse or are they bluffing? It was strange seeing the world's first fireproof boyband hanging out by their car.
