Replying to all: Ferrara wll not be in the Superstars Series, nor will be Morbidelli. Cola will be there, I seem to understand. Dionisio will be there with the new Audi as well.
The Maserati is really strong, it looks and sounds great and will definitely be a challenger. The Jaguar will be a contender in the hands of Sini as well, and of course the great BMWs and the Mercedeses!
It's gonna be a great season!!!

It's a shame about Ferrara and Morbidelli, but on the other side Porteiro will join and maybe Hernandez too. Does anyone know about Giovanardi?

No news for Fabrizio, still without a drive at the moment, except for the Nurburgring 24h with the Ferrari.
Although on the entry list, I don't expect Ferrara to be in the Series.

Helter thanks for the answers, but I have a lot of other questions:
why is Ferrara going away from superstars series?
do you know something about mn motorsport and romanini(in the list is listed with one lexus)?
will mrt finally enters two chrysler?
and why ascani is listed?where are ghedina and tramontozzi?

Not a bad provisional list by any means, even if I admittedly know little about much of the drivers!

I guess if there were rumours of 40 entries that there are still a fair few more to register.

Hoping a few more 'names' come in to support the serie's title.

There's still too many gentlemen drivers in the series for me to really get into it. There's a few good blokes in it (Montanari, Biagi, Chiesa, Ferrara if he makes the grid), but the series has actually taken a step back from last year. This should have been the year people like Rangoni, Larini, Giovanardi, Puglisi, Malucelli et cetera really got into it and gave the series some status - instead none are back and Morbidelli is gone. A field mostly with guys like Pigoli, Ascani, Giudici, Gabellini and such will not get me excited.

Pigoli is not that bad - he actually came 2nd and 3rd in last year's seasons.

Rangoni Motorsport will be back surely, let's hope they can put together a full season.

He's all right, as is Gabellini. They're just so damn uninspiring, and none of them have done anything against real competition (i.e. Super Touring days).

Pigoli is a great driver, gentleman or not he deserves respect in my opinion.

There are some young talents such as Cerqui,Cola,Linossi etc. and I hope to see again Tramontozzi,Cressoni and others that can become the "new names" in touring cars races.
I'm obviously hoping to see this year Giovanardi,Larini and Rangoni.
Herbert maybe won't be in superstars..

for italians:maybe this year the championships will be showed by rai sport

1- I have no idea, I just overheard him say so.
2- They will be on the grid, but I don't know if they're starting from Monza or not.
3- I'm sorry, I don't know.
4- Tramontozzi was at the tests but he was in ordinary clothes. I believe he's still into the series but is yet to finalize a deal. That's just a guess, though.
Pigoli was an independent in the SuperTouring days so you can't really compare him with the big names such as Giovanardi and Larini on the basis of those seasons. In the Superstars Series he proved to have the speed.
In this economical environment the Superstars still shines as one of the healthiest series in the world. The manufacturers are getting more interested (e.g. Maserati) so things are still moving. Don't forget that 4 years ago this series was laughed at, as there were very few competitors in it, and now it has one of the largest grids in the touring car world. Expect more to come!

i agree with people that witt the entry list 2011 the superstars have made 1 step behind than 2010.

i would like to know why there is not yet the name of cola (in my opinion one of the favourite for the championship together with ferrari and biagi).

and moreover i dont understand yet why there is giovanardi with n.technology with porsche. they made lots effort to enter in the champions in 2010 talking that they use the 2010 as a sort of "test" in preparation of 2011 and now they wont be on the grid?
where is johnny herbert? where is morbidelli? where is larini? where is rangoni?

where have finished all the most competitive drivers of the superstars and wtcc of the past years?

just talked with Cola on fb.
he will miss the first round in monza cause his car is not yet ready. i have no words to comment specially to describe how can be possible that between him, Dioniso and Bossi jr, the top driver of the team will not have the car immediately.

its simply ridiculous.

Regarding the Audis now there are 2 RS4s on the entry list:

36 Ermanno Dionisio Hopmobile Audi Sport Italia AUDI RS4
37 Riccardo Bossi Hopmobile Audi Sport Italia AUDI RS4

Right now it would be better if there won't be any professional driver in the championship, but only gentleman driver!

Unlikely.
Anyway, the new Audi is a very young car and nobody knows how competitive it will be. They still could have run the RS4 for the first race for Cola, that's something I really don't understand!

Because, as I said, Fabrizio is only scheduled for the Nurburgring 24h so far.
Nobody said N Technology would be on track this year!

It's called PRE-ENTRY list for a reason. Anyway things look like they won't be on track, but last minute deals are very frequent and there's still room for hope.
