Dudley has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

The engines may be badged as Cosworth, but to put any other badge on the engine will be up to Ford and I am sure money.

The Chevordworth did not become that for free.

Now Cosworth can build a new engine not related to any Ford...

I believe you misunderstand the concept of sale.

Cosworth can call that engine whatever the hell they like. It's theirs, Ford sold the Cosworth company.

Ford only owned PART of the Cosworth concern when they bought their part.
In case you did not know, it was the part of the company that they had shoveled money into for decades for engine developement.

Go check the history.

The Brits have an odd way of selling things off, as the people who thought they bought Rolls Royce found out when they could not use Rolls Royce engines, as that was not part of the sale.

I did make one error; Cosworth engineering now belongs to Mahle; Ford bought Cosworth racing.

And Ford sold Cosworth Racing, to KK anf GF. I'm pretty sure the sale would have included all IP

It's a little bit irritating but both parts are doing engineering... therefore a short history of the company: Back in 1998 the former Cosworth company was sold by VICKERS Group to the AUDI Group and splitted in two parts: Cosworth Technology and Cosworth Racing. AUDI kept Cosworth Technology and FORD took control of Cosworth Racing. By the end of 2004 Cosworth Racing was sold to Kevin Kalkhoven und Gerald Forsythe, the company now is named Cosworth Ltd. And in 2005 Cosworth Technology was acquired by MAHLE from the AUDI Group, the name was changed and is now trading as MAHLE Powertrain...
