He did (jokingly?) say on here a few weeks back he'd be going to the pub before staying up all night for the race |

I watched the WTCC coverage too (congratulations to Andy Priaulx) and Martin Haven did sound distinctly croaky.
Even so, it is a fact that he went along with David Leslie's mistaken belief that the result was an aggregate one, so that was the final verdict as far as Eurosport was concerned. Apart from the fact that all you saw of Kubica was him driving into the pit lane, whilst the cameras were far more interested in di Grassi, so there was a clue... |

If Martin Haven does post on this site I think that the viewers deserve an explanation as to why he was so out of touch.
His commentary was at best poor and an insult to all the hard working drivers in F3... Macau is a serious motor race and an appropriate level of research should be expected. On a personal note his dig at Dan Clarke regarding his mistake at Monza half a season ago was below the belt. Dan had over 10 laps of the Macau circuit just passed 6 cars, was ahead of every other rival from the British F3 Championship, set the 3rd fastest lap of the race in sector 2 (in an Opal - in a new team), set a race lap time 0.5 sec faster than his experienced F1 tester team mate and after all this Martin still found nothing more sensible to say than his comment about Monza...
