Where is that info from? My listing has Crimewatch scheduled for BBC1 9pm tonight-guess the Byrne doc is the same one that you saw on RTE?

Think it's BBC Northern Ireland only.

Might be available on one of the BBC's digital channels?

The program is called Crash and Burn and if it is not available terrestrial services it should be possible to pick it up on satellite services. I can get all the BBC regional services on a freeview satellite system.

It is on BBC iplayer ; I watched TB race in period and the film is utterly brilliant in portraying both the talent and the flaws of TB . Don't miss it - just search title on iplayer . I watched it this morning .

I finished watching it tonight. Interesting stuff summed up well by Eddie Jordan at the end. The lack of money was always going to be an issue, but the lifestyle and demeanour clearly did for Byrne. After that McLaren test, the world should have been his oyster and perhaps if he'd tested for another top team - who knows? He was clearly never going to be in with a chance of a drive at McLaren. It was a shame to see how low he sank but good to see that he came out the other side - when much worse could have happened, by the sound of it....

BBC4 last night - first the John Surtees documentary which was excellent I thought and then Crash and Byrne. Wow - that was different.

I remember spectating back in the day but hadn't realised Byrne's life story nor quite how highly rated he was. I remember Ayrton da Silva, as he was then, threatening to just pack in and go back to Brazil if no-one was going to back him and the documentary added a different perspective to that!

Both documentaries well worth watching in my opinion.

So glad they showed the John Surtees documentary, after the change to the scheduling first time it was broadcast in 2015 meant I missed it. Very touching documentary, especially the bit at the end with Henry, they couldn't have not mentioned that. What a gentleman to the end John was and typical Enzo, angry at the time, but never held grudges

And the one on Byrne was just like the driver, very fascinating. Some drivers are pushovers, but Tommy always put his foot down, even if it did prove to be his undoing in F1. Would have loved to seen his 83-84 seasons in Euro F3 on there, especially his race in Monaco in 84. But all in all a great documentary and one who shouldn't be forgotten. The only other one who gave 100% and never got to the top was Perry McCarthy

Was Crash and Burn available on the iPlayer? Looking now it's not but I wonder if it never was because of BBC4?
