BTW, I'd like to precise that Vincent holds a glass of sparkling apple juice, not Gewurztraminer.

Apologies for such a late response..........
Anyway, a rather belated, but genuine, thank you to our fantastic French hosts for their hospitality once again. The wines were delicious and much enjoyed. Thank You! And what an excellent meeting it was. Great to finally meet Mal, and I got a real buzz from renewing old friendships with 'the veterans' of the 10Tenths meeting. What a fantastic group of people you all are, it's a real privilege to consider you friends! Ayse, you missed Tony (the third member of our little group) from the list of members in the photograph. I can't remember his handle on here, but he has achieved a post count of one since becoming a member earlier this year! I was very sorry not to see isynge (and Mrs isynge) and GTFour at the meeting this year, two of the members I most look forward to sharing some time with on the Saturday morning. Great fun, and must have lasted the best part of two hours this year. Shall look forward to seeing everyone again in 2011! |

Yes it was a very good meet this year, I am sure a few others turned up and left before the photo,s were taken but I can't remember who. the wine was very appreciated and the company excellent. A few faces were missing this year but next year is now only 48 weeks away.

I think not.... (and no, I haven't amended it ). Third name down - right after mine, in the L-R list. I didn't know his Tenths name! |

We'll certainly be at Silverstone in September (having very carefully checked the sportscar calendar when booking holiday - most unlike us) and would be good to catch up with folk at some point - although obviously random stumble-upons at Maggots as happened last year are always fun. Scope to kick off a thread on an attempt at a 10/10ths get together at the 1000km? |

I haven't asked them yet, but I know they're trying to raise the profile of the team..........fan club etc.etc. On a personal level, I'm itching to get a close look at the car. Could have done so at Le Mans, but time just didn't allow (which I very much regret).
I'll ask, in due course, and if they are willing, you're certainly in. However, I suspect the Sunday may be out of the question. Home race, and they'll be exceptionally busy entertaining their own guests. We'll see what, if anything, can be arranged. |

I was looking at the 2010 meet and just in case anyone there remembers Helen brought her best friend Tara to le mans that year and she came to the meet in pictures just behind her, unfortunately she was killed in a car crash recently, It has hit Helen very hard.

Losing a friend in such circumstances is sad and terribly shocking.
Condolences to Helen and her friend's family. |

Horrible to hear news like that. Please pass on our sympathies from the forum to Helen and also if appropriate to Tara's family.
(I know how much it meant to me during my illness to read the support of people here, some I knew well, others I had only meant once or twice or even not at all). |

Very sorry to hear that Simon. I chatted with Tara quite a bit when I was hanging around your campsite, she seemed really nice. Condolences to Helen and all those affected.

I've got a question for the folks planning to attend the meeting (I'll plan to be there for the first time).
Here in the US at ALMS races and now the new TUSC series (yes, I was at Sebring and will probably be severely limiting my intake of TUSC from now on) we have driver autograph sessions where the teams have nice printed posters and flyers that are signed by the drivers on autograph day (they did this in Austin at WEC too). I've seen in years past that there has been an autograph day earlier in the week at Le Mans, is it similar? Unfortunately I will not get to Le Mans in time for the autograph session and if there are cool posters that are signed I would love to have them. Would someone who is coming to the meeting and the autograph session be willing to grab an extra of each of the posters for me? You have no idea how much I would appreciate this! If you saw my garage at my house you would understand why, every wall is covered, each and every square inch with these posters. So can anyone please help a fellow sports car fan out? Please??? |

On the friday pit walk and at various other times the drivers will sign posters etc and most of the posters can be obtained at the retail outlets dotted about.
The autograph sessions are i think very early in the week so unfortunately i will not be around either |

Tara
Thank you very much guys, you really know how to support people. It's been the big reason I am unsure if I can bring myself to attend this year.
I shall pass sympathies on. Though she didn't really like cars all that much everyone accepted her and left her be with her books! Thank you x |
