Why would Lowndsey be quoted as having said that Murphy "had more horsepower" than Lowndes' 888 machine, today?
If anything, the E85 fuel, which the V8SCs run today, would give the engines considerably more power than they were running in 2003. The engines run cooler with E85 as well. |

Well done to Brighty and the team. Great session. Can't wait for the shootout tomorrow. Time to lock it in!

it was only a matter of time, but hey, unlike some records it lasted.
interesting to note, murph is also in the shootout. Lap Record back to him maybe? as for #8, shame about what happened...but #1 locked up and bumped into the back. Minimal damage for #1, then Qualified 3rd. As for #8, an all-nighter and ROF start...at least they can now focus their resources on #14. |

Worse to first would be on paper a distinct impossibility (with all the safety car call-outs for small scrapes!), but you never know. |

I think they need some divine intervention though.. New chassis rails are/were being made up un Albury, to be airfreighted up to the team... The TAFE boys n girls are helping the team to correct the damage that pushed the engine and gearbox back further than they were built to go, fuel cell and mountings are damaged.. A very hard hit
The team is hopeful the car will be back out for tomorrow's practice session, while Mr Jones relayed on the on-course teev that the car may not run til Sunday |

It was great to watch it, they were the good old days when we had variety on the track........reinforced my view that the V8 category has ruined this event.

Just saw the car on TV during Weekend Sunrise. Looked like all the panels were on and the last bits of the engine airbox were being fitted. Certainly not a full days work left to go form the looks of it.
