Go watch the sandown pass again, you will find it wasn't a blatant hit in the rear to unsettle whincup...Whincups pass today was clearly a bump and run.

Ford won a race and Whincup got a penalty didn't think that was possible according to a few people on here. Anyway I thought the racing was pretty good over the weekend, I don't mind the shorter races but I don't really like having all the qualifying sessions that go with it.

Where-as in the NZ incident, Whincup hit Frosty in the rear then barged his way through. Frosty's attempt on Saturday was I guess a last ditched effort that didn't come off. And this isn't a "blue vs red" argument as I follow neither. |

Interesting that in Adelaide, Courtney bumps McLauchlin off the track and no penalty, but Whincup gets the penalty this time. Good to see no matter who the IPO is, inconsistency rules...

If you think the rules have been applied evenly (even just looking at this year) then you are not watching V8s.... |

The question might be the impact of the various remedies to what are found to be breaches of various rules.
Mr Premat and Mr Coulthard had to run yesterday with the 10 second time penalty over their heads. Could it become strategically optimum for a car at the front to jump the start, get into clean air, and go hard, knowing they will only cop a 10 second penalty for it? A drive thru is much longer in time than 10 seconds after all.. From each of the incidents this year, it is possible to take the view that there are variations of outcomes from the incidents. The rule should be pretty specific... is 'Bump N Run' ok? If it is... Game On! If it isnt.. what is the remedy.. pit lane drive thru, points reduction (team or driver or both??), fine (suspended or payable??), licence endorsement.... Not too sure what difference the team points penalty amounts to, there is a Teams Championship prize at seasons end, and the pit allocation for the future season is set on the teams' points... but is it enough of a disincentive for anti-regulation behaviour.,, And that thing with the spinning wheels in the pitstop should be a binary measure.. the wheels either spun or they didnt... another pitlane safety issue that is penalised with a drive thru penalty, not a fine or points reduction, or some other sanction... Too much ambiguity in some areas methinks... |

Basically all that. It needs to be set out in stone, and they need to follow it.
Inconsitancy in the way the rules are applied is a part of the sports history that needs to be dropped! |

Great weekend of racing. Bright was definitely not the only one on-sight getting a touch emotional after race 2. All up, the S-bend has been a success I think. Certainly helps the circuit from a viewing perspective - although the hideous use of caging sucks man-fruits.

Motor racing is a cynical business. But this image is why we become emotionally involved.
This is just as moving and special as Lowndes winning the inaugural Peter Brock trophy. Amazing effort Brighty. You may be called 'not so' at times, but you raced a clever weekend and did it for JR. This afternoon even bought a tear to my eye. |

the rules have been consistently applied.
you are allowed to bump and run, you are allowed to dive down the inside and crash into the side of the other car, It was explained to us as a result of the JC /Mclauglin incident. What you are not allowed to do is cause a car to lose significant places as a result of the contact. Thus JC/mclauglan. no issue as he lost two spots including JC Frosty vs whincup on Sat. no issue. as whincup did not lose a spot. whincup vs Frosty on Sunday. Issue because it caused damage to frosty's car that caused him to lose a lap and multiple spots. For that matter Whincup and frosty and sandown. no issue as it was just the spot. |

A great weekend of racing. BJR well deserved winners.
BJR have hit the ground running this year and its great to see another team mixing it up the front. |

Best round of V8s in ages.
Enjoyed the lot with a very fitting finish. Loved the Frosty serve on Alex. Should be Giz's seat The one mistake they made was ruining a great race with a timed finish. Get rid of that ****, start earlier to allow for a SC or 2. |

It wasn't like there were more pressing things on the telly after the coverage anyway. Just the usual travel nonsense.
V8SC also needs to threaten to withdraw some media accrediation from certain companies, if they continue to spew forth the race results before the coverage has even started, let alone the racing being televised. The least they could do is omit the drivers' names from the headings and links on social media, as the V8SC team does. |

Definately wasn't live where I was.
Auto Action's Facebook page either has a crystal ball, or someone with an itchy trigger finger. They're the worst offenders, although I've removed them from my feed, it doesn't stop other people I'm connected with, from commenting on their posts. Ad-Cafe aren't too far behind. I know everyone says to avoid the internet, etc, but when your business relies on it for advertising, and so on, it can be a little annoying and hard to avoid. Especially when you're recieving email notifications when you're out and about. |
