Ooof, thought Collard might have nabbed that. Entertaining once things got going. It's so tight in the mid pack, causes issues at a smaller track but expect it to be calmer once everyone has got used to things and the season progresses.

Austin excluded from race 2 for passing under a yellow and contact with Jordan. I was surprised the pass under yellow wasn't picked up by commentary.
It now means Chilton is on pole for race 3 |

This confuses me because there was no yellows. I was thinking that at the time and they showed the onboard Austin, looking backwards. There was no yellow or green flags showing on the lap he did it. So unless they brought in the yellows whilst he was making the pass, I don't understand that one. Was certainly not visible during the replay.

They just showed it on TV. Definitely a yellow, I'm completely wrong.

Yeah, it was quite clear from the angle they just showed. Rob Austin's floating head was very apologetic, though.
A win for the new Astra would be pretty good. |

I think Turks would have been through if they weren't teammates.

The highlight of that race has to be Chilton banging his head at the end of the race when he tried to get on the roof!
Overall PMR Vauxhall did much better than I expected, Subarus seemed to be caught up in a lot of incidents and the MGs were nowhere. Impressed with Epps as well. Last edited by luckn002; 2 Apr 2017 at 17:25. |

The Subaru team have had to place weight in the dash-board area to counteract the advantage they get from the low CoG of their drive-train. It would appear that this has upset the whole balance of the car.

Interesting comments from Paul O'Neill about BMR at the end there. Wonder what he is referring too...it seemed to go much deeper than just pace.

Did they? This isn't the BTCC of a few decades ago where it was very difficult for new teams/cars to come in. In fact, not achieving instant success is more surprising. Pretty much every NGTC car built after the first year has been successful within two months of running.

i had a great time at Brands, racing was good and plenty of cars proved they will be in contention this year, only real disappointment was the the subaru's well off the pace and seemed to be the cause of too many incidents, lets hope they get it together next time

Just got back from Brands - great days racing! There was some real 'elbows out' racing but most of what I saw was the right side of acceptability (for the BTCC ;-) ). The BMWs looked good, as did the Hondas (all of them), Jackson looked to be on it and is clearly the class of the Motorbase drivers. Disappointed with Newsham and Lloyd today though - didn't see the expected pace from either of them.

Wow! Where to begin?
Seems Tingram is like Flash playing the long game and can see both in the title race. J.Smith did well to get pole and was holding his own in the race before that part failed which was a shame. Still at least Goff got three good results and should win at least once this season. I'll post more later |

Didn't the HARD cars have some issues with the wheel nuts in pre-season testing also?
I wonder if the nuts had been finely specced for the old tyres, but with the new wider tyres they are just loading up a touch more and causing the failures? |

What was Plato alluding to with regard to the "changes made to the car on Wednesday"? He said they were still trying to work out the car after this...?

Perhaps TOCA have found a container big enough to hold Jason's ego and bolted that under the dashboard

The live stream is geoblocked, but the on demand races are usually unrestricted.
