Not the same one over and again, surely?

For example, the rocket mini on the ski jump was fundamentally the same joke/stunt as the rocket car fired into a quarry aimed at a caravan.

It has got repetitive and needs freshening up, some new creative input is urgently needed, it used to be fun............

I get bored of watching them drive around the Top Gear test track, they need to get onto some real circuits or find some nice tarmac special stages in Europe so you get a true sense of speed.

Watching a car go 200mph on an airfield is about as exciting as your local motorway.

The airfield allows for something we can't get to see at race circuits. Oddly it isn't just about driving quick, it is about having fun. I too prefer the pure speed ability of the cars, but I watch and enjoy motorsport for that. Besides it allows easy testing of many different cars.

It isn't a motorsport programme.

Hammond went round the 'Ring in that Transit, and Jeremy tried to beat his time from the playstation.

Oh no, wait a minute. I'm just getting the sarcasm, it was on time delay.

But anyway - I couldn't care less about what they do on Top Gear as long it keeps on being imaginative and fun to watch. I know dozens of people who watch TG and don't even like cars.

Exactly. I do think they need to perhaps change things around a little, but there's no point completely overhauling a clearly very successful format.

I've no doubts at all that they've got some great ideas for the new series in May - I'd love to sit in on one of their production meetings.

Unfortunately we don't really get Top Gear anymore in the U.S., even in edited form. The Discovery Channel played some last week and I had to scramble to find a recording tape. I guess there is a U.S. version in development, but it looks stupid and I like the hosts on the original. I guess I'll have to start downloading old episodes or something.
