Tim Harvey! Britain is a small country in Europe (just) after all!

Menu in the CC for Hard/Scott? Why so this theory? It's intriguing.

I think Alain Menu/ Aron Smith at team hard and Giovanardi at Motorbase providing they can finalise a deal with the sponsor

Right a few points..

WSR 2013 line-up was confirmed a year on Friday and they say there will be news soon. Cars set for new livery.

Alain Menu is looking at a BTCC drive and we can pretty much narrow it down to Airwaves. Team HARD couldn't afford Turkington remember, so Menu will be a no go.

Giovanardi rumours surfaced with the mention of a former champion. There has been little support for this, and unless Airwaves really are pumping cash into Motorbase, it won't happen.

If either return we will have 6 former champions with 10 titles between them...

I think it also surfaced cos Bartrum mentioned 2 former champions so you might believe Menu and GIO

or perhaps he meant also non BTCC champion like Dan who goes F3 instead?

Dan's a current FF champion though! Ex-champs Motorbase talking 2 probably Turks & Menu!

I think both Giovanardi and Menu will be at Motorbase. Gio doing the pedals, and Menu doing the steering.

Yeah they'd only have to pay them 50%, so cheap at half the price

well if all else fails we can count on Matt Neal's broken finger later this year to make room for Menu/Gio

So regarding the Gilham situation, it looks like his VW Cup operation will now run out of a Midlands base in a new separate organisation called Team Hard Racing Ltd by Gary Allen, who is a director of Tony Gilham Racing and I believe a family connection of Tony's. Here's what TG said on that situation:

"I am genuinely excited to be part of what I believe can be something very special. I worked tirelessly last year to make things happen but unfortunately too many broken promises made my task even tougher. Admittedly we took on a mammoth project and at times the VW Cup suffered as a result of the BTCC distractions. This year Gary will be leading the team away from any said distractions so hopefully as a result the whole operation will benefit . We tried to run up to 6 cars, made it to every round and picked up some silverware along the way which was a massive achievement. I am so proud for the team of 2013 for sticking with it. Now I have a new role to play and can concentrate on my strengths and work as hard as I can for the team in 2014."

I tried to find out what was happening with the BTCC from his Twitter feeds, but got lost in a sea of pointless hashtags.

No, I think the Menu rumours surfaced with the mention of a former champion.

This may be a prediction too far, but I think we are set for WSR news on Friday and Airwaves news in the next week and a bit...

Menu/Gio rumours came entirely from overexcited hyperactive posters on here. Not seen a sniff of anything mentioned anywhere else on the internet.

Not all manufacturers make the size we use and of those that do the Dunlops are the best. If we want to change size it's a lot of work / money (need to tub the rear arches and buy a complete new set of wheels / tyres - at least 10). If we keep the same size the tyres just won't be as good. I guess there are other people out there with the same problem - for instance a lot of Mini racers use Dunlops on 10" rims - I'm not sure if anyone else makes a 10" slick? I doubt the BTCC will be impacted though - I'm sure Dunlop will use another facility to make the BTCC tyres.

Who's in at HARD then...

I think Scott in a Passat, Goff in an Insignia.

Then who knows? They pulled off a surprise last year and did an amazing job. Yes the merry-go- round was a shambles, but to get to where they did was terrific.

Think we can discount Gio from BTCC judging by this article, suggests racing is not top of his priority list for 2014.

such a shame that a man of his abilities doesn't get real work

oh well we still have MENU possible, remember he tested NGTC Civic in case Neal was to be replaced and Gordon Shedden said a former BTCC champion may return in addition to Bartrum's comments
