With Audi leaving GT3 in the near future it will be interesting to see what the impact is on teams, drivers and GT racing in general.

Another evo of the R8? I thought the R8 was going out of production as a road car so Audi would have to find a new base model. I suppose that would be possible since BMW and Lexus both use sedan-ish machinery. But does Audi have interest continuing in this arena with the move to F1?

Rene de Boer is a well informed journalist. I admit in this quote he's less strict on "no future in GT racing" than I remember from other quotes of him. Last edited by FIRE; 30 Aug 2022 at 18:05. |

Audi is known to be interested in electric GT racing.
https://sportscar365.com/industry/au...at-least-2024/ https://sportscar365.com/ev-racing/a...tx-world-tour/ Probably not for 2023, but maybe eventually. |

Last week the Ford Mustang GT3 was launched. The project is a cooperation between Ford Performance, Multimatic and M-Sport. First customer is long time Porsche outfit Proton Competition. The German team will enter two cars in FIA WEC. Ford has also announced a two car GTD Pro entry in IMSA. The car will make it's debut in the 24 Hours of Daytona. More info: https://www.dailysportscar.com/2023/...omer-team.html https://www.dailysportscar.com/2023/...h-gallery.html In my opinion it's a great looking car. Maybe it's optical illusion but the GT3 looks more slender compared to the Mustang in Supercars. The rear wing is impressive. |

Wing is impressive indeed - so far away from the body of the car!
