Well we don't get Dacia that I'm aware of but many of the weirder Chinese imports are getting tags in states with lax laws. More than a few videos I've seen of registered 2 cylinder stamped steel monstrosities.
Dealers here are generally the worst place to go for about anything outside of recall work done. Bad mechanics are common, minimal effort and parts cannon used often |

My comment about the Renault 5 is because I grew up with a neighbor that had a Le Car (which is an incredibly insulting name for a French car in the US), and I remember being 7 or 8 years old and climbing in the back of this thing and thinking it was a piece of crap. The doors were like 2" thick. The accelerator was just volume control. And this is coming from a guy that grew up in the back of Buicks. |

Eventually some of the Pugs of a certain era built in France were slightly better than "normal" ones (domestic market). Following the chain of manufacture some cars very directed to a small workshop called Export if I'm right. I owned numerous 504 and 505, the last one was a SW Familiale bought from the french Australian Embassy in Paris. Was far better than any other one previously owned.
When you think that Pug targetted the NY Yellow Cabs market for a while… I remember an ad about this Le Car, even down here it had few success. As on usual, it quickly became a pretty much sought after collector! Go figure. The version sold here was two door of course but a two seater too, because of the tax advantage one could get (lower VAT, 18,6 instead of 33,3% if I'm right). |

Nice Savanna, thanks! Love this car. Mainly because I don't have to fix or maintain the engine myself…

Dreaming about a french reg showing M for Merde… Its a pitty we have so few rotary engines specialists in EU and none in F. A nice little car, rather elegant (of course I lithe the 924/968) which became famous race wise thanks to another Uncle Tom, I mean Walkinshaw.

Pop-ups are open because of a regulation about daylights may be? All modern cars have this and its not possible to disable this feature. The worth came with this coming on our bikes. As all Hondas any time my CB1000 has one headlamp permanently lit. And those gonzos have never been able to properly design a bike with a proper electric supply alternator/regulator/batterie are always too small. May be your Four excepted (not sure!).

But yeah, popup lights were disallowed right around the end of the C5s because so many were aging out and finding that vacuum lines leak, 80s era electric motors were junk and NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Admin) make a recommendation. Yeah, our highway law guys make recommendations and make someone else actually make a law, but they are mostly insurance guys and came up with the 5mph bumper too so.... |

Broadrun when you mention pop-ups and vacuum, the first name to spring to my mind is Lotus Elan!
Thanks for the pics, "Dave", two reasons to explain running rich… |

I still have dreams of importing a modern wagon or estate car that is not sold in the US. But for whatever reason we have a 20-year rule on that. I just figure if I get enough money I can make it happen and figure out all the other logistics out after that. Plans are great but I have terrible follow through as I am not currently buying lottery tickets

About 4 years away from RS6 and E63s.
I think joeb wants a completely modern one. If you are really rich don’t you just pay the fines? |

And Georgia has had so many Kei cars get titled by possibly legal means they've put a hold on new titles and likely reg renewals too
