I believe you're absolutely correct. Road car is the hold up. I as well guess that VLN in the SPX class would see it first, perhaps in conjunction with Super Taikyu in Japan. Outside of that, I'd wager to see Vasser having a go with it first, they very much deserve it. |

So, the Maserati MC20 GT2 takes pole and then gets P2 in its debut in the European GT2 Series; https://www.gt2europeanseries.com/ne...-claim-am-lead. https://www.gt2europeanseries.com/im...sification.pdf
Surely, that car is a good basis for a competitive GT3. How much of a difference is there between GT2 and GT3? |

Judging from last year's results at the N'ring24 (a couple of Mercedes-AMG GT2s raced in the SP-X class), the gap is about 15-25 seconds per lap between GT2 and GT3 cars, so quite significant.

* GT2 pole position at Paul Ricard: 2'03
* GT3 Bronze pole position at Paul Ricard: 1'54 That's a big gap. |

Here's another video at Spa https://youtu.be/PXuEL_oj7TA?si=PbRUJCR_Ejw094K0, I think I may have posted this on the ACO GT3 thread

A lot of folks drawing Panoz/Viper/AMG GT3 references and resemblances (rightly so), but looking at the side profile it also very much gives modern SC400/Soarer to me as well! |

Listened to the Radio Le Mans - Le Mas preview and an explantion that I might have missed at the time is one of the reasons the AWA 2nd car was retired from competition is because the owner of the car felt he was asked to do development work on a product he bought as a customer and expected it to be ready for racing.
Which from a customer point of view I get it, if I pay I want the finished product however considering this is first customer car developed by Corvette Racing he should have expected issues with reliability and customer service. Seeing how the Corvette still has reliability issues, maybe it would have been smarter to debut this year just with the Pratt and Miller and TF sport as a manufacturer supported team and take time to develop it before making it available to 3rd party customers. It seems majority of the other manufacturers use such an approach when debuting or launching a new product - even Ford doing it as for me Proton is a manufacturer supported team (but they did have similar issue with Dinamic to be honest) |

It sounds more and more like he wanted a race win straight away and found out he was in WAY over his head. The fact AWA just moved on quick without comment screams great, glad that's done now let's get the car running. No GT3 car comes to the track without issues and most weren't great the first season but the C8 hasn't been garbage at all
