They already have the guns. They just keep forgetting to reload them, so are wanting to bring canons instead.

What they actually have on their own: Bow and arrows
What they have been allowed to use: Revolvers (but they ain't Wyatt Earp) What they want: Laser cannons |

Is it ok to ask questions here ?
Is it any age limit of the drivers in WEC ? I think it will be in F1 next year, rule change by FIA will that apply to all FIA's racing series? |

hi, I didn't write here for a while; now I have a tech question that surely someone of you could answer me:
which is the max width and diameter of lmp1, lmp2 and gte tyres ? |

LMP1's front and rear tyres : 31/71-18 which means, if you don't know, a 31cm width and 18 inches of wheel rim
LMP2 : 30/65-18 (front) and 31/71-18 (rear) GTs: 30/68-18 (front) and 31/71-18 (rear). source: https://www.michelin.com/eng/content...pa+2014_EN.pdf |

Tires should be wider imo. Especially on lmp1's. Bring back those fat slicks 16" wide.

I also would like that but sadly that's not in line with the "ACO's efficiency motto" trend. Tires were narrowed for 2014 because that decreases it's weight and the "contact patch", thus decreasing the rolling resistance.

Narrow tyres also decreases cornering speed.

Wider tires are not happening. They are already super scared about the cornering speeds of the cars. I'm gonna throw out something here that a lot of people will disagree with. Instead of constantly thinking of new ways to reduce downforce of the cars, they should probably make the tires operate in a much wider temperature range and last longer, maybe even have some grooves in them in the future.
It will cut down cost on tires, the tires will be much more road relevant, and since budget caps are not happening instead of the teams spending millions for gaining a few tenths per season like it is now in F1, they will actually have some meaningful gains and learn something from all that R&D budget. |

I dont think the current tire system is that big of a cost saver honestly. At least from my pov. Its not something that seems like it cuts down on costs. The cars are faster now and use tires more with the 4wd/hybrid power. They could reduce the reliance on downforce by wings and up the tire diameter to reflect real world cars. 19" would be new and closer to what you see on street cars. You can get 20" wheels as a factory option these days. More mechanical grip vs less aero grip. Make a wider bigger tire that lasts longer because it deals with the stresses of these cars' power better.

Formula E has a single set of tyres per car for a weekend. It's also the same tyre for wet and dry. Of course the cars are slow, races are short etc.

.....And are much more relevant to road cars. No one drives on slicks. Also going down that route will improve safety quite a bit since accidents like the one in Lemans 2014 and COTA 2014 could have been avoided.

Somehow ESM didn't know about Bahrain's law against alcohol advertising before last week. How is that possible?

No they'll just rebrand the side initials as ESM.
Even if they had asked the Rolling Stones mag again, why would they have wanted to sponsor some desert race nobody sees. Anyway ESM, this has been a crap year for the team in every respect. And one of sudden, weird actions.mm |
