A great experience, hard to find words actually (especially english words). We arrived around 8 o'clock and went to the T4-Stands for the training. To hear and see the cars coming into the big braking zone of T1 was stunning. I didn't like the M6Gt3 from TV pictures, but this car is a beast on downshifts Also great to see cars braking like 100m earlier than Gt3's. The speed-difference is so huge in the braking zone. I was really surprised, again something you can't tell from TV pictures. After the training we went to the boxes and later walked the grid. For the race start we went back to the stands and stayed for an hour or so before we went to Brünnchen. There we walked different places by foot and stayed here and there and just enjoyed everything. The weather was wonderful and everybody was really chilled. When I first saw the cars dropping down from Wippermann, Eschbach into Brünnchen I thought they have to loose grip, it just looked too fast to my eyes in that section After a while i got used to it, but I will never forget the first sight Last edited by pafe; 27 Aug 2018 at 18:00. |

Now you know why people keep coming back race after race. Again this weekend and after having to miss VLN5, I'm very much looking forward to it!
Here's our gallery from VLN5: https://www.gt-report.com/2018/08/30...machine-pt-ii/ More at https://www.gt-report.com/2018/08/30...machine-pt-ii/ |

Television is wonderful to be able to see races, it makes it easy. But it takes away so much of the spectacle. The noise, the physics of seeing the cars squirm around and to flash past. |

Can anyone recommend any good websites that give info on travelling to the N24 (preferably websites in English)?
In 2019 LM24 and N24 are only a week apart, and as it's our tenth LM we're planning on doing both in the same trip, but I'm not sure what campsite etc might be best and all that. Thanks in advance! |

The 2019 car with the Falken / Porsche camo livery looks awesome! I really hope Spark makes a model of either this or the Manthey version of this livery.

I'd rather see a real livery, this camouflage is getting out of hand.

VLN7 race report: https://www.gt-report.com/2018/09/25...port-distance/
So what do we think? Was that a jump start by the Ferrari? I'm pretty sure it was judging by how far the Ferrari was in front when they came to the first corner |

The new R8 and Aston GT3 would’ve won if it wasn’t for the SPX rules holding them back. Those cars are very very impressive it seems.

Yeah, I didn't mean it as a complaint, more than the initial outing was excellent.

When you look at the bop given to the Aston Martin (1325kg iirc) it appears to be much better than the outgoing V12 Vantage in that area, handling its weight. I don't know what the old car ran at the last time around the Nurburgring but I think it was lighter than this new car.

2019 Calendar:
16 Mar: Test day 23 Mar: 65. ADAC Westfalenfahrt 13 Apr: 44. DMV 4-Stunden-Rennen 27 Apr: 61. ADAC ACAS H&R-Cup [19 May: 24 Hour Qualifying Race] [22-23 Jun: Nurburgring 24 Hours] 13 Jul: 50. Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy 3 Aug: ROWE 6h ADAC Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen 7 Sep: 42. RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen 28 Sep: 59. ADAC Reinoldus Langstreckenrennen 12 Oct: 51. ADAC Barbarossapreis 26 Oct: 44. DMV Münsterlandpokal Couple of mild frustrations from a purely selfish point of view: 13/14 Apr has Blancpain (Monza) and VLN (Nurburgring) clashing. In 2018 these rounds were on 20 Apr and 6 Apr respectively. The 28 Sep round has moved a week later vs 2018 and no longer shares a weekend with the Spa ELMS round, which was a nice double-header weekend trip. |

No complains from me, though. Blancpain GT Monza always takes priority.
Here's my VLN9 report, which I had to miss because of racing elsewhere: https://www.gt-report.com/2018/10/26...t-end-of-line/ Gallery tomorrow. |
