Yes 5pm issuance has moved the storm further east over florida instead of heading north into georgia right away. So that makes the greater Atlanta area more steadily on the weaker western side of the storm.

Funny that you use that wording, because I saw on the news this weekend that Tampa has not been hit by a hurricane in 100 years. Which I find baffling because in the past 20 years Louisiana has had 40 hurricane strikes or something stupid like.

I'm still hopeful that being on the west will limit our strong storm exposure, but yes lightening could tarnish things a bit.
