Just to add some salt into a red wound Mercedes was a lot than Ferrari in the final slow sector in Spain and the next two races feature some significant slow corners.

Obviously, this thread is tongue firmly placed in cheek, but after seeing Barcelona qualifying I can't see how anyone can claim the Ferrari is the better car than the Mercedes. |

Perhaps Mercedes will let someone else win, the audience must be shrinking now and the whole point of mercedes being in F1 is to get the message out to the public and at the moment F1 is looking very boring.

Mercedes in tatters as they only manage to lap the snail Williams cars once in the race......the end is nigh.

Maybe after Hockenheim where they will sow up the constructors championship if not before.

Any takers that Mercedes will have a go at eclipsing McLaren's near whitewash of the 1988 season?..Already been to the bookies with a cheeky fiver!

Staggering that Lewis is almost 50 points ahead of Vettel already, so has pretty much two race wins in his pocket.
I believe Mercedes have more constructors points than all the teams, except Ferrari, put together. So from 3rd WCC place onwards. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk |

What was the bet? All the races? A higher fraction than 15/16? All one twos?

Ferrari must be rueing their lost chances in Bahrain and Baku. Not that it matters. Although there is still a long way to go, Ferrari and RBR look like they can only nick the odd win, but Merc have got the title in their pocket already. We can only hope Bottas stays on form, as it wouldn’t be good if Hamilton ran away with it, especially with 4 titles in the past 5 seasons

I see that the end of the a,b,c sequence also saw the end of Mercedes dominance.

Toto Wolff must go surely... I mean having not run a 1-2 in Monaco to keep the trend going... the board of Daimler Benz must be furious with him
Horrible to be so uncompetitive |

No clue about how to manage tires, Slow pit stop, Lucky podium slot due to penalty for MV, Team strategy is a mess, I mean at one point late in the race, Lewis was told that he had overtake available - they were that clueless they didn't realise that he was in the lead so had no-one to overtake! |

Putting Hamilton on the mediums was a terrible choice, but of course this is Mercedes and not Ferrari so nobody notices or cares

It's amusing that Mercedes terrible choice still won, whilst Ferraris terrible choices tend to knock cars out of qualifying on the hardest track on the calendar to pass.

Not sure mercs will be worried only getting a 1 3 finish, but the showing of the red bull must havde sounded the alarm bells

I reckon the opposite actually, remember last year the Bulls would have had an easy 1-2 if Verstappen hadn't crashed, while Mercedes couldn't even beat Ferrari. I think this race shows the amount of tracks where anyone can even challenge Mercedes is a lot smaller than last year.

I think Hungaroring, where straightline speed doesn’t matter quite so much might be the best chance for the others. But of course there’s still a chance other teams can catch up on them
