Looking at those set in stone I reckon 11 at least.
Full timers. Boardley, Newsham, Lewis, Hutchison, Marshall and Shepherd for certain in Gen Two. Alden, Kerry, Beech and Smith in Gen One Guest: Lines Don't know about part-time entries like Sargant. I have a feeling that Powell didn't have a problem last time post surgery (he was at a car show doing simulator stuff on the last race day) so wouldn't count on any Sport 77 stuff. Will the Lynk & Co eventually get out? Didn't see any official announcement about Laidlaw, was Snett a one off? Is he doing some/all rounds? I do worry that the championship might fall by the wayside, and I also wonder how much is being paid to WSC for the title? It's odd how there are so many TCR cars, yet they can't get a championship to work in most countries. |

I read in a recent copy of Autosport that Bensley won't be out until Silverstone in August in his Lynk & Co & Simon Green Motorsport posted on their socials about being at Oulton after missing Snetterton.
Hopefully numbers will go up. As for WSC, they are the rights holder to TCR. On their website, the current count is 36 approved series around the world: https://wsc.group/ On the TCR UK website, one of their articles from 2021 states that Maximum Motorsport hold a six-year licencing agreement to run TCR UK - https://www.tcr-uk.co.uk/tcr-uk-beco...-championship/ Not every TCR championship is suffering though. Italy, Spain, South America and China all have grids above 20, which seems to be the average number for a TCR series currently. In the UK, apart from British GT, grid numbers are down in general this year, either in the BTCC or at other levels of British Motorsport. As a racing fan and a TCR fan, I'm glad I've got something to watch each weekend. |

15 cars on the list for Oulton according to the BRSCC entry list.
Looks like they'll all be racing too which will be the biggest field of the year (Brands 14, Snetterton 12 - but both had bigger entry lists.) |

Weird day at Oulton today, so many shunts, only two races without a red flag or safety car.
Big shame to see so much damage for Marshall-Birks, had a look at the car afterwards, and it looks really bad. Not sure if he will be out again for a while. Good to see a few more cars for this round, hopefully the upward trend continues. Also sending best wishes to the spectator/team member taken away by air ambulance. |

Steve Laidlaw is switching from the Capture Motorsport Hyundai to an Area Motorsport Cupra for Croft. His son Sam takes over the Hyundai for his TCR debut

Only 12 cars, but Stewart Lines switches from Gen One Audi to a Hyundai i30.

Interestingly the BRSCC entry list shows Steven Laidlaw in a Hyundai, although its been confirmed elsewhere that he's in a CUPRA so I've changed that on here. No Marshall (I'm guessing as a result of damage from Oulton?), Sargeant, Alden or Powell. Lines is racing again (to keep numbers up?) and the Laidlaw family has been covered by the specialist press. |

As I'm a season ticket holder at Croft I will go and give TCR a second chance. Last time I saw them there , they had an entry of about 8 cars. But , hilariously , that didn't stop some drivers moaning about 'traffic'. At least the MX5s etc have decent grids and should be fun

And a question - the timetable shows that before the TCR races (but not any others) there is a ten minute 'start procedure'. I'm none the wiser - what excitement can I expect in those ten minutes? Or is it just a very, very slow formation lap ?

It's just to give them time to drive to the grid, then swap tyres before the start.

Sorry , but why don't they put the right tyres on before the race, like
every other grid does ? |

They get heat in the front tyres on the out lap then swap front to back. BTCC and a lot of other touring car series do the same, you just don't notice it as there as there is usually so many other people on the grid.

Last time I watched TCR they came to the grid and had all the people milling about. Then they did a lap at which point the mechanics came out and swapped wheels. After that they did a formation lap and then started the race. I've never seen that with other series. With the BTCC once everyone is off the grid (wheels are swapped during that) they do a formation lap (two at the smaller circuits) and then start.

Yeah, the "tyre rotate lap" is weird and unnecessary.
Pretty good races at the weekend despite the small grid. |

If not a patch on the support races . They seemed to drone around a second or so apart for the duration. Look almost identical and sound ghastly.

Enjoyed all three races at the weekend, despite the weather.
But getting soaked was worth it, to get on the grid and see the cars up close, not often I get to do that. |

17 cars this weekend, and a decent support package. With Silverstone being short hopefully a it's better for the livestream too.

Forgot that they had 750 mc on the international and BRSCC on the national. I guess there won't be restrictions on buying a ticket for one and wandering over to watch the others? I expect a few TCR Cars will be over in Roadsports and Club Enduro.

The Historic meeting is around the GP CIRCUIT. No other meetings planned at the same time. Have you got confused with what's on where? Not being funny.
