It will be interesting to see if they can actually get the Series up and running strongly, as it requires a lot of financial support to make it all happen, and the market in the UK, in terms of the number of SSangyong utes sold is less than little old NZed!
No common sense, seems to be the story of motor racing, every man for himself!

I'll be impressed if they hit double figures at any point in year one! Your series is a tough benchmark to try and beat but shows off the potential for good racing when there's enough of them!

It's a big kerb at Paddock which unsettles most cars especially a SSanyong ute, didn't happen this time but could in the future

During practice today for our first round of the season a very young competitor, lost control of his ute around turn 1 [appropriately named the Ssangyong Sweeper] at Pukekohe, and just as it slid sideways to a stop it just fell very slowly on to its side. No damage was done to the ute and the young driver walked away without a scratch.

29 Ssangyong Actyon Sport race utes will start race 1 tomorrow morning, hopefully all 29 vehicles will start race 2 later in the day.

Wow, a long time since I've checked in here!

It was good to see 29 utes, again, start the season. I was able to tune in to all the races thanks to the livestream- and then saw them in person at Brands Hatch for the final rounds of our UK championship.

Will try to catch the races from Pukekohe too. The young competitor who rolled there last year- same one who did very well at the weekend?

Yes the one and the same, then 12 year's of age, now 13 Year old Callum Hedge, set a new lap record to grab pole for the third race, and finished 3rd, however, some mechanical issues combined with some 'grass mowing' saw him only manage 10th place in the 4th and final race. Very fast but still need's a little more race craft but unbelievably good for such a young driver, he is also running in the NZ Formula Ford Championship this season so a young man to watch that for sure.
