Just checked on TSL site (to be sure) and after qualifying, where Plato was fastest across the start/finish trap (but not the other one), thereafter he didn't top the speed tables, and as you say, by round 3 he was mid table. I was wrong to single out the Honda's though, various cars / drivers were quicker on occasion.
Whichever way you look at it though, no 'massive speed advantage' for the MG.

However wasn't there an engine "baseline performance" established last year after the 2011 Honda engine wiped the floor with everything else? Surely they can't be doing the same as 2011 when the Neil Brown Honda unit just wiped the floor with everything else? From what I remember, the Honda unit had to be turned way down in order to achieve "parity"...?

So many questions!

I don't recall seeing anything about boost levels in the bulletin for Brands Hatch that a friend showed me. Perhaps they're all running to a set max level, then the restrictions and increases kick in.

Just saw a question on Twitter, but didn't want to answer it without the knowledge:

Why did Shedden fail the ride height test due to accident damage, but Andrew Jordan pass his with a tyre completely off the rim?

I know the answer is fairly obvious, but what's the exact distinction between what's allowed and what's not?

In the case of a flat tyre, the team are allowed to replace the damage tyre and re-take the test.

In the case of accident damage it's less clear-cut. Stewards will look at the car and decide if the ride height fail was as a result of damage or not.

I must say that the WSR BMW looks awesome out on track, and I can't wait until they get the car sorted. Turk showed some nice pace in the races.

Indeed. A great lesson in damage limitation, considering multiple trips to the gravel trap combined with Saturdays qualifying smash, yet still scored good points to sit 7th at this early stage.

Must have done, can't see any other reason why they would be so off the pace, maybe their cars didnt like the cold :P

To be fair, with the exception of Mat Jackson's car, all the others you've just mentioned were brand new. Still very much a voyage into the unknown at the moment, as testing doesn't always show up problems, if you're lucky enough to get some done that is. Cut them some slack.

Exactly right. Hes a very very talented pedaller. Was also key to his 09 title in a pressure cooker situation, in fact, the entire season.

Refuse to believe its 11 years since some thinly clothed girls put their name, and thinly clothed frames across the bonnet of his debuting MG in the Oulton garages.

Well they're wrong.

Shedden race one (2nd to 19th), race two (19th to 3rd), race three (25th to 2nd).

Turkington race one (27th to 8th), race two (8th to 8th), race three (8th to 9th).

By all accounts I make that a net gain of 22 places for Shedden and 18 for Turkington.

I am more intelligent than 'official' BTCC.

TSL shows Shedden starting race 3 in row 13, position 25, but maybe cars between him and 2nd that failed to start or retired are not classed as making up a position.

So you could both be right, and you could both also be wrong.

Either way, both drivers did exceptionally well, which is considerably more important than a forumers ego size Easter extravaganza!
