Surprised by this. But I guess we saw Lee Holdsworth do the same. I am not sure what business interests Fabian has or what work he is doing - but other than earning a salary for a year, what could be achieve? He may be prioritizing family and a Bathurst result here.

Really maybe good with SVG leaving and some young blood coming in. Is there a perception that without SVG the rest of the drivers are more even?

I guess this year it's been hard to tell because of new cars and such small gaps.

I can't believe he was offered a deal in the first place. Over the hill in years, well past his best, and his best was never really that good. BJR gave him the boot. I'd love to hear Ryan give his business plan for 2024, where FC is the best option for the team. FC was a B to B+ driver in his prime, but an A+ mirror driver, he was the best of the best in his time. Maybe that was the plan? Drive blocker for Chaz like he did for Scotty.

From memory I thought his contract was not extended with BJR? I thought the contract deal had fallen over, and FC was then looking for a new team late in the year. I didn't think Brad wanted to pay the price FC was looking for? The guy is in his forties I think. Why would a team like WAU want to bring a guy like Fabian back in?

The words coming out of his own mouth in May of 2015, was he was still looking for a contract with BJR and was hoping that would pan out. He wanted a similar package to the deal Chaz was on, so he wanted more money. If that didn't happen, he was looking at possibly the Tekno / Erebus seat, or even a Nissan drive with Moffat gone. Didn't mention DJR in that sit down interview. Maybe the DJR link came later in the year?

Doubt it, Reynolds main attraction to any team is the dowry he brings. Would have thought that Team 18's long time association with Fuchs may have caused a problem, but with Pye running in BP colours at The Bend, clearly having different oil sponsors isn't an issue. Perhaps surprisingly, Reynolds' long time engineer Alistair McVean, who moved with him from Erebus, will be staying at Grove.
