You know if there is one thing I love about current LMP2 is just the same what Sam Collins says - there is no really balance of performance in the class apart from baseline setups and some minor things put in place ages ago (like HPD restrictor etc). Couple of years ago, don't remember exactly when, I was kinda getting worried when the ACO actually said in a press release that the performances will now be modified further in necessarily - but it's all been very quiet in that front. There are no constant committee decision sheets coming out like in GTE. Which is excellent!
I suppose it's partly due to there not being real dominator like RS Spyder or sth out there in P2, but whatever the cause, it's great for the category. They could've messed it up, but they haven't. Chiana is pleased. |

Is there any hybrid tech allowed in P2? For example, if Honda homologated the new coupe with some energy recovery tech?

LMP2 is more or less cost-capped. Hybrid technology is expensive, so I don't think will be allowed soon in lmp2

Has anything been heard recently about the Tiga LMP2 car?
http://www.tigaracecars.com/LMP_cars.shtml Apparently it's ready? Is one or two likely to turn up next year? |

I thought Mike Newton mentioned something about starting to run the car later this year? And that was on RLM only about two weeks ago.

I hope either Tiga run it themselves or sell a couple to someone else. Some variety apart from just Morgans and Orecas is needed, variety is the spice of life after all. |

Pilbeam is vaporware, the Tiga is in development and we know that it should be based on the old Embassy/WFR LMP2. Ford Ecoboost - Libra used that engine in LMP2, but for a full 2 races. As for Dinan-BMW, they did announce that they could re-engineer their DP engine for LMP2 use if any customers were to turn up (which they haven't).

Some more engine variety would be nice bit otherwise looking good. Your list misses the Multimatic Lola, although I fear the end of them.

exact the lola b12/80 is missing. I know that tiga is still in development but realisticly I think that there isn't any customer intersted. Look at the bailey lmp2, the car exists since 2011 but nobody cared about that car...
You're right libra racing used a ford ecoboost engine in laguna seca 2012 if am I not wrong, and joint also TUSC test in late 2013... but (correct me if am I wrong) it was a different engine, not the one used by ganassi riley DP3. |

I think it's the same engine architecture, but the DP engine is 300cc larger.

Ah yes, I'd totally forgotten about the Mazdas. With their latest performance I think we can respectably consider them LMP2 cars.

This picture from Endurance-Info of the Murphy car is interesting.
On the left side (of the picture) you have the normal Oreca 03 bodywork. But on the right side you have the Oreca 03R bodywork. It appears that the 03R bodywork must be placed on top of the 03 bodywork. Behind the front you can see the other front fender, which still needs to be put on. This also explains why the headlights are so far back into the fender of the 03R. Pretty interesting. |

I guess that makes the update a bit cheaper, but it seems like it could be a aero burden if there was any air getting between the new and old fender.

Then said they will announce something in the near future when they sold the automotive business |
