Driver TBA should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Well done to James. I always love seeing DJR on the top step of the podium.

Was interesting to hear Mezera's response to the Whincup incident. According to Tomas Jack's team told him he was racing Whincup for position, hence no penalty. I still found it odd that no penalty was given, maybe it's a message for #11 & #16 to stop getting in everones way.

GTR. Did Jason Bright run over your dog or sleep with your girlfriend? You seem to have a dislike of him and his team.

And DRT. Stop sucking on sour grapes!

So, why didnt the 888 team take a penalty for this? A faux pas from the driver's seat or the pit garage does not excuse a punting surely?

No dislike of the racing driver at all, just interested at the inability to maximise the opportunity in front of him, a great start, a poor strategy call for a stop, a poor stop later in the day... it is very messed up still

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
its interesting the jack didnt lose a spot in the incident, maybe that should come into consideration. there was no penalty to jack , so why would there be penalty to whincup

Townsville can be well pleased with the event. Very good circuit, one of the best in terms of layout and a sizable crowd. Pitty the v8s were the usual procession.

Why weren't they using the sprint tyre for this event?

im not sure if you are aware but racing is about the fastest winning, thats what happened this weekend, as for processional, it was hardly that we saw a number of passes for the lead and a number also for position.

if you want racing that passes every lap then enjoy the short ARC races because thats the only place it happens

sorry there was no crashes and that no one died, im sure that would have made you excited

Its not a designated sprint round. I would like to see the sprint tires used at all rounds except Philip Island and Bathurst.

GTRMagic, you aren't exactly coming across as a supporter, quite the opposite in fact.

Some drivers benefit from safety cars others don't. Today the safety car effected Jason's day in the worst possible way.

Given that the tv telecast showed neither stop, how do you know the stops were poor?

To go a lap down due to a safety car really cuts. I am sure Jason is devastated tonight that a result did not come today.

Oh, and despite going a lap down today, at least the green machine still circulated comfortably in the front pack, where it should have been, even getting past the FPR falcon. Go Brighty.

Cheers
Steve

No sour grapes Driver, just dont like being taken for a ride organisers, despite others eagerness too.

Interesting they announced 48,000 on Friday and the total figure for the weekend was about bang on Skaife's prediction of Saturday morning. Amazing forthsight there and surely just a coincidence.

I think its great idea of taking motorsport to northern queensland however all the bs isnt neccessary, unfortunately that is V8SA

Didnt see aline there doing it?

A permanent facility would have had advantages, but harder to sell to the Govt.

if the worst thing you can come up with DRT is that the crowd numbers were a bit close on Sunday to the Saturday numbers then it must be a pretty good event

you seem like a pesimist who likes the sound of your own voice. Let's go back 20 years and see how touring car racing was then? Considering the world economy, I think V8SA has and still is doing a great job.

Nice looking layout! Not that I'm a fan of street circuits, but it certainly was a most interesting layout. No dickie chicanes, it seemed to have a flow to it and well supported by the locals too. Still don't like the idea of Homebush though.

I am not attempting to come up with bad things about the event.

What I am doing is questioning the approach of the organisers for the last 2 weeks and validity of its reporting to the press / public and the motivation to do so.

Ricky it is because I have an interest that I bring up these issues, there is no law that because I follow motorsport I must toe the party line is there?

well im questioning your questioning then, whats your agenda for questioning the number.

you saw the footage the crowds were big

also remember this is the first v8 street race that V8 supercars have run themselves(i may be wrong on that do they run hamilton?). they have copped alot of flack by the media and other (like yourself) and they are well and truly justified to say hey this is even bigger than we hoped

they hoped for 150k and they got around 170k the prophets of doom suggested they would get that. i look forward to them admitting there wrong, but wont be holding my breath waiting
