Have you got any proper cars, or just those F1 things from recent years?
Any 50's or 60s or sports cars over the last 20? |

You'll have to keep me informed on progress. I'm not a big collector of model cars, I've only got a few Burago models and they're not that detailed. Mostly cars driven by the mighty 'tached one. Well, you've got to start properly somewhere. I haven't looked at E-bay for a while. |

My collection goes back to 1973 with Emmo's Mclaren.
I tend to collect 1:18 f1 cars from the '70s to the modern era. My most resent car I got at the TSF1 sale was the 2003 Brazil GP Fisichella first win Jordan with intermediate tyres and dirt and containing part of the original board underneth the car in a wooden block. |

Minichamps I think are releasing the 1986 Williams.....I've had it on pre-order for two years but it keeps getting delayed.
That's only in 1:43 for some reason. Plus they are releasing the 1:18 FW14 from 1991, and the 1:18 Senna Taxi FW14, also from 1991. I've got my eye on the new benetton collection now......the B188's are out and looking great and the B191's are out soon........they look even better! And my Senna First win 1:18 came today! Yay! Damon, chill, there's no rush for that list. |

knowlesy I know you are a 1:43 collecter just letting you know that when I went to a recent steam rally in the area they had about 50 F1 cars at an encredible £7.99 each from the '50s to '00.
They had loads of Benetton cars from the '80s to present day. The models were not minichamps but were still good quality. Looks like I may get my 1991 Williams Taxi next mounth then. Last edited by luke; 9 Sep 2004 at 16:40. |

Come on Ayse, the Lotus 97T in full john player livery is gorgeous!
Luke....I think there's a steam rally in my area in a couple of months time, I'll have to have a look. I collect mainly 1:18 now, but I still buy a lot of 1:43! |

I've never felt compelled to buy a sportscar, because there aren't many really GREAT quality models around. There are some nice ones, but nothing special.
The only special ones are ones from companies like EXOTO, the big 1:12 scale GT40's etc...but they cost hundreds! |

I disagree knowlesy. I have a Maisto 2002 spec Audi R8 that is quite well done. Yesterday I stopped in a local shop. They had the 2003 Le Mans winning Bentley and the Toyota GT-One. Both were well done, but kind of expensive compared to what I've seen on the net. On a side note, the Crawford DP in Citgo livery was sitting next to them and looks quite pathetic by comparison.

Maisto are okay jhansen, I agree, and for their price they are superb.
But I'm one of these ******s that goes for the fine details.....and maisto doesn't quite have them. Nowhere near as bad as mattel though! They are a toy manufacturer first and foremost, and it shows badly in their models. take a look at the suspension and tyres of one of their models and be ready to vomit violently. I was looking at the first version of their ferrari F2004 yesterday....horrible! |

The rest of my diecast models are mostly touring cars - mostly DTM/ITC and SuperTourers (again all 1:43). I tend to but on impulse (which is how I've also ended up with a Panoz and a Toyota GT One ). I've just bought a wall cabinet to put them in, that'll keep the dust off nicely. Other than that I've got a few Tamiya kit built 1:24 cars (Focus WRC, Group A Escort Cosworth, Lancer Evo 5&6 WRC, 2 Impreza WRC's, Corolla WRC, 2 206 WRC's, 205 T16, DTM Calibra, Porsche 911 GT3). |

I was thinking of buying the 1982 Porsche Le Mans set. It has three Porsche 956 T's all lined up in a lovely box. All very nice.
But it seems they have removed the Rothmans livery that was scheduled to be in place......looks like Minichamps have started to hit legal issues with Rothmans! |
