it doesn't have any effect on the results of the #8. "too far behind the previous position and far enough in front of the next".

Porsche should take it as they stand? I believe they went into the race with behind by 3 points from Ferrari but they are leading now.

Wow, Porsche cleaned house this season of WEC. LMP1, GTE. I don't think any other manufacturer can lay claim to that kind of success. Too good on both fronts.
