I'm wondering where the Pug's pace has gone. Yesterday they ended the day with their fast lap 2 seconds faster than the fastest Audi, but Audi topped the morning final practice and were much faster in qualifying.
I guess that Audi knew that Peugeot with Nic's lap showed their hand and believed that they could do something similar, which Allan did. And it seems that the 908s, namely the factory car, have been struggling to keep in on the island--this morning, it was Nic's turn to bury the factory car in the kitty litter. Audi doesn't seem to be having nearly as many problems with the bumps. Have the Pugs tightenened up the J-damper and torsion bars to maximize grip in the dry and negated compliance over the bumps. I expected that Audi might be fast, but to have on car over a second faster and the other nearly half a second faster and lock out the front row was a surprise. Maybe, as I've said all along, the R15 is the better car outside of Le Mans, and it finally won a pole after a couple of close calls (Sebring '09 and Paul Ricard '10). |

Apparently Juan Barazi will not be driving the 009 car today for some reason.

Eurosport's coverage started. Amusing to actually see the start of LMS race for once I doubt the V8 Vantage stays long at the GT2 lead.

This really does ruin the race somewhat though.
Very very odd, can anyone remember the last time an Audi retired in the first hour with technical problems? I can't, it might even be the first time.. |

Gearbox failure apparently. Very bad luck because the same gearbox worked reliablity in testing and Le Mans.
This completely ruins the race and the LMS LMP1 championship. |
