Alfa on pole... If that was race 2 than what's race 3 going to be like!

On the other hand, shame for BTC Norlin who looked set for two cars in the top ten. Last edited by luckn002; 8 Apr 2018 at 14:25. |

Wow!
Anyway did I hear Jake Hill isn't confirmed for the full season? Also Neal had a tyre off the rim, don't know if it was cause or effect. |

Amazing race.
Moffat tried to rejoin like a loon, exacerbating the entire scenario. Such an emotional parc ferme, pleasing to watch such raw emotion. |

Wow, Kylie Robertson still doing what he does best, but even more so - can't remember seeing a Porsche roll!

Just realised the Martins aren't on the grid this year - can't say I'm sorry to see that!

Should be a good battle between Moffat and Austin, with lots of faster drivers making their way up.

Can we just park Bushell for the rest of the season? He's deliberately punting cars all over the place.

Ignoring Bushell’s questionable move there, it’s great to see the CCs have some pace this year (and the Audis and MGs!)

Great days racing. Race 2 was particularly brilliant.
New Honda is terrible. Bushell would do well to leave his Clio driving at the gate on the way in. Porsches are much better with the reverse grid - as long as they stop crashing into each other. |

Well, for me there seemed to be three drivers going forward in every race - Ingram, Goff, Sutton. Still think Ingram's going to get the championship.
The main thing we can take away is that it's going to be another amazing year. Aside from (strangely) Dynamics, every single team and car was fighting at the front end, even without the crazy race 2. Looks like Shaun was right about those MGs which were very impressive, and hope the pace can continue. Great to see the Audi's up there, and Smelt stayed out of trouble. Oliphant looked good as well although got into a few unnecessary scraps. Motorbase seem to have put 2017 behind them, with all 3 cars doing very well. Hopefully Bushell's R3 pace is a sign of more podiums for HARD, though needs to calm down a bit. I believe Thompson was only 1 place off points too. Norlin looked very strong, especially Smiley who I think is going to be right in the mix for the JST. The Vauxhall's were quick and I think may win a race or two more this year. Off day for Neal and Cammish never really seemed to have the pace to go forwards, so looks like teething problems for the FK8. Aiden Moffat should've won race 2 and could've been on the podium race 3. Parker and Jelley haven't improved on last year's peformance so far. The WSR BMWs were good though Collard was way off the pace. Looks like deja vu again for BMR. Sutton with race winning pace, the two JP's nowhere to be seen. Don't think Plato will see the season out. Whoops, that was a bit long... Anyway, roll on Donington! |

Did BMR run three cars this weekend? Other than Sutton, they were totally invisible as far as the TV coverage was concerned.

Wow! Where to begin?
R1 was a great scrap with Colin and Jack. That incident on the first lap was one of those things, Tordoff was a roadblock, then slid into Simpson, who hit Neal which sent him into Tordoff. Great recovery from Sutton, he is really on top of the car, I really think Plato must surely be considering retirement R2 was like Snetterton 95 all over again, those who gambled on slicks got rewarded. Well done Proctor, Hill and O.Jackson, all getting their best results in the BTCC. I don’t think Proctor was punished for the squeeze, but for the tap on Moffat beforehand. First win for Vauxhall since 2012 R3 had such a mixed grid, seeing the faster drivers have to come through was fun. Shame Austin couldn’t hold on, but what a result and great drives by Tingram and Morgan too. Bushell needs to be punished for those moves, they were never on. What happened to Goff, he seemed to not make much progress after the first few laps and I would like to know what happened when he dropped a few positions. Also anyone know how the order shuffled in the last few laps? So Goff looks like a title contender with the Honda unit in his Eurotech car. Also Simpson looked good. Team Dynamics must be hoping for a dry weekend at Donny, although Cammish didn’t look too bad. And the BTC Norlin cars were there or thereabouts. Just a shame it’s hard to tell the three liveries of the Honda teams from a distance BMW looked good when things were going well Morgan looks very good in the wet finally. Hope he has a consistent season. And Oliphant was the best rookie after Cammish. Motorbase Fords looked good, shame they didn’t get the rub of the green. Tordoff still has it in him, Chilton was up there too and Cole proves he can drive FWD. Tingram and Sutton both look title contenders already with their weekend of maximising points Also good to see HARD and AMD holding their own in race 3 And some close support race action too, roll on Donny |

Great racing today, nice to see the smaller teams fair well.
Dreading to see what the boost reductions that are inevitable will do to the smaller teams though... The cars all seemed pretty even on the straights other than Sutton’s Subaru. Does anyone know what happened to Goff in race 3? Did he get a nudge that dropped him back? |

Brilliant two days, race 2 was worth the money on it's own, however the increase in the cost of southbank parking was rather step, 10 quid today, double last years price

The first time I've enjoyed a race day for a while. Not too many dodgy driving displays and I just love a mixed conditions race!

Was it shown on the TV what happened to Jake Hill on the formation lap of race 3? Because the commentators at the track didnt talk about it, but Aiden Moffat bogged down on the dummy grid, and in coming back through the pack he nearly tagged Bushell, and actually did hit Hill which broke the rear suspension. Surprised he didnt get penalised for that - or maybe he will receive a reprimand.
All in all through a great days racing, race 2 was epic, and all the support races were good/ok, thanks to the mixed weather. |

Tordoff appears to have quickly lost his badge as a clean driver. I saw him tag at least 3 cars going into Paddock.
