Whilst you're entitled to your opinions (of course), you're not entitled to have everyone agree with them - that's the 'beauty' of a discussion forum!

I'm not sure I even mentioned South Auckland. Maybe it's you that's making that comparison. All I'm saying is if your reason for not supporting a driver is they had a privileged upbringing then you begin to run out of drivers to support pretty quickly. I'll head back to the asylum now. Only the underprivileged F1 drivers, who grew up homeless on the streets of Detroit are allowed in the asylum.

Hey, I'm not judging! I spent a long time living in a place called Arbroath. It's just a wee town, but it's like living in Basra.
Edit: For the record, I'm not saying Dixon had a millionare upbringing. Just that his parents social position allowed him a start many others wouldn't have gotten. It's a different scale for sure, but it's the same idea. Unfortunately, most sports have this sort of story. |

I can think of a lot worse options, he’s more than eligible for a seat in F1. Don’t forget only Leclerc beat him in last season’s GP2 championship

This is entirely understandable: https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/13...-ocon-for-2019 If Renault have ambitions to be a real player, Ocon was never going to be much use to them. Fingers crossed he finds a competitive drive somewhere, if the Force India door is closed to him.

I hope so too, be a massive waste of talent if he wasn't on the grid next season

Now Kvyat is being touted for a return to Toro Rosso.

I personally don't rate Kvyat and I don't think many here do. So on the surface it sounds crazy.
But on his good days (when he is not crippled by his own mental games) Kvyat could be argued as being much better than Hartley. Also, might TR (and by extension RBR and Honda) glean some information from Kvyat about the Ferrari? Kvyat apparently does simulator work for Ferrari and should know the operational details of things like special modes (hybrid, qualifying, etc.) I could see a one year deal to get them through 2019 with an option for 2020 if he surprises. There are many in the paddock who think Dani Kvyat the quickest Red Bull driver ever. If he could just unlock it more often...

Fair point, but Vergne was far quicker than Kvyat. Buemi and Alguersuari were probably about equal. |
