They've not shown a whole lot of GTLM all race and the overall is 4.5 secs atm.

Will be interesting to see what the stewards say about BMW and Vette coming together there....

So glad the weather held out for those in attendance but it would've been fun to see a little precipitation.

A mediocre first half but it got a little exciting towards the end. Such a shame it was broken up by SCs.

Was that the first race this year that neither Nissan has had a technical issue? If so I guess the new electronics package is doing its job.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a professional job from both ESMs today ... no sketchy driving, no pit errors, no mechanicals. Imagine if Dalziel and Derani shared a car ......

Even so, first and third is not bad at all.

I almost feel sorry for the Taylors. Their car has been strangled and shackled and crippled ... and still took second.

If that were a P1, and didn't have to mess with BoP stuff ... how fast could they make that car?

Lots of contact in the Prototype Department that they got away with which was good to see. Usually contact can lead to pretty big offs but the fellows driving did a great job to maintain composure.

It seems that the track conditions changed or setups changed considerably throughout the race because it was interesting to see how some cars were fast at the beginning and some cars were fast at the end. The pr1 Ligier held second place for nearly the entire first stint and then something happened to that car and they dropped back to last, I don't know if the tires went off or what happened but they never had the pace again after that initial stint. The jdc car has to have a better race if they want to win. They are fast enough they just need to work on pit stops and strategy.

I was glad to see esm finally pull it together and have a solid outing. I don't know if they can keep that up for the 10 hours at Petit but it is great to see some other competition at the front. Throwing Derani in the car definitely does not hurt.

It was a good race. For some moments the P cars were in a pack fighting altogether (except for the #10). As Joeb said, it looks like the track changed through the race, and while some cars were faster at the begining, by the end of the race they were slower. It was rare to see Pla so slow.

Definitly, JDC have to think better how to manage the strategy, I don't understand what they wanted to do, not entering while the FYC.

Good for ESM, good driving of Derani, no pit error, no mechinal problems, it looks like the new Motec electronics works better than the Cosworth ones.

ESM look like they are rehearsing for 2018. No offense to Ed Brown (he bankrolls the team), but how and why did ESM think it was appropriate to be the psuedo factory Nissan team and run a non-PRO driver?

I'm happy to see ESM addressing their issues. They need to get drilled because next year is going to be much more difficult.

I just now got to watch the race, so have been staying away from this site of late to not have it spoiled. Seems I missed a lot!

Awesome news about joest taking over the Mazda program. Great race, especially for esm. Derani is insane. It's just got to be assumed he will pass the best if he's in the race.

As for jdc strategy, if no more yellows came after the one they chose not to pit in, couldn't they have built a gap on the opening lap or two after going green and then pit, and gain time while the others pit again later? I was thinking they should have came in the lap after the gt's pit though. Just bad luck on yellows. And I don't think there's anything for them to work on on pit stops, just need faster fuel flow.

Corvette is woefully off the pace but still manages mid pack finishes. I'm actually enjoying the heightened attrition. Adds to it.

Lot of good news for the series it looks like. I got some reading on here to do!
