Looks a bit chunky from the front, looks very nice from the back! Overall, looks nice and solid, and its a saloon too, which is important

The 'stealth look' as Alan Gow referred to it over the PA made it difficult to see the detail, even so, I thought it looked quite good.

One would also presume that it was being looked after today to ensure an outing was possible tomorrow in front of the anticipated mega crowd!

Guys & girls.
I've split the thread now to seperate the BTCC and STCC sides of the NGTC discussion. Keep posting here for BTCC issues, but for the STCC NGTC points can all future posts be in the following thread. Thanks http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=125130 |

Yep, it would be a real shame if that 5 cylinder never sang again...

You are right that an NGTC-spec engine doesn't have to be built by Swindon. What you are missing is that Volvo's NA 5-cylinder unit has a very distinctive engine note and that's something no turbo engine is ever going to replicate no matter who builds it.

And watching that Volvo racing at Okayama, the engine sounded like a mini Lamborghini SV-R GT1. Pure epicness.

Oh, I don't know. the original quattro engine was a 5 cylinder turbo & sounded pretty distinctive. And if I remember rightly the Volvo engine is based on the Audi architecture, which Volvo bought some time ago. |

Well I was lucky enough to see [hear] them in the flesh when they came to Brands as wildcards on the WTCC and they were even better than that vid. In fact, I'd go so far as to say they were the nicest sounding touring cars I'd ever heard... and I've been watching touring car racing since the late 1970s !
