Not sure I rate either of them that highly
Chaz has been very up and down this year, and often beaten by Melandri who is similarly up and down! And Giugliano is a nutter wh only goes well on new tyres, as soon as they g off he is an also ran, look at Jerez, he was embarrassing there But he is Italian, hence he gets the ride! Lol unreal |

Apparently Yakhnich Motorsport (Sam Lowes's team he won the Supersport title with) were looking into it and even tested the MV I believe, but I've never seen any confirmation of it.

No riders yet and I doubt that they'll get any wins, but it's good to see them in WSBK finally. |

Eric Buell Racing will race in WSB next year, Geoff Mays and Aaron Yates will be the riders with backing from Hero MotorCorp of India.
http://www.crash.net/wsbk/news/19891...sbk-entry.html While it's always good to see a new manufacturer (and another twin) join, I can't help feeling that they're really going to struggle until the EVO rules start in 2016. Hopefully KTM will finally join in then too. |

He's a good rider but surely his time was ten years ago - I remember him being quick against the WSB boys in guest rides way back in the mists of time. Good for him he will be getting a season at WC level though, just a shame it didnt come in the early 2000's.

Hi all!
Could any of you tell me what is the differences between the WSB Evo rules and the BSB Evo rules. Till the answer my comment from an other forum: *** Canepa - Althea Ducati Evo is official http://www.crash.net/wsbk/news/19908...pa-ducati.html so updated WSBK 2014 (based of the currently aviable confirmed informations and rumors) Provec Kawasaki Sykes Baz Aprilia Guintoli Melandri Feel Racing Ducati Davies Giugliano Crescent Suzuki Laverty Alex Lowes Ten Kate Honda Rea Haslam Team Hero EBR Buell May Yates Yakhnich MV Agusta Corti --- Grillini Kawasaki (Evo) Fabrizio Morais Mahi Kawasaki (Evo) Foret MRS Kawasaki (Evo) Guarnoni Althea Ducati (Evo) Canepa Pedercini Kawasaki (Evo?) TBA TBA nor fully confirmed, but highly predicted BMW Motorrad Italia (Evo) Sylvain Barrier (Reiterberger)? Provec Kawasaki (Evo) - maybe with a different team naming Salom Elias Ten Kate Honda (Evo) - maybe with a different team naming TBA - surely an italian rider (Badovini?) rumored/perhaps Mesaroli Ducati or Aprilia Lanzi Jordan Suzuki TBA TBA Team Toth Kawasaki(Evo) or BMW (Evo) Tóth jr. TBA(?) Team Lorini Honda (Evo) TBA ***** So that is 20 bikes till now, 13 "normal" bikes (all factory) and 7 Evos (5 riders confirmed) + a high chance to 4 more Evo bikes and maybe some other Evos (Lanzi's rumored bike might be a normal bike). Not that bad, but Alstare is a big loss + I'm worried abut 2015 because the full Evo grid (factory teams, especially Aprilia, Honda and Suzuki)... Last edited by Tarzaan; 22 Dec 2013 at 11:38. |

Suzuki where quick in the recent tests at Porto - can they keep it up once the season starts... Is it to early to right Haslam/Honda off, Jonny Rea seems a lot quicker still!
1. Alex Lowes (Voltcom Crescent Suzuki) 1’42.5: 2. Eugene Laverty (Voltcom Crescent Suzuki) 1’42.6: 3. Jonathan Rea (Honda) 1’42.9: 4. Davide Giugliano (Ducati) 1’43.0: 5. Marco Melandri (Aprilia) 1’43.1: 6. Chaz Davies (Ducati) 1’43.2: 7. Leon Haslam (Honda) 1’43.5 |

I would suggest Haslam shoudl have been in BSB last year aswell as this year, seems to have totally lost whatever form he had and is now making up the numbers
Having said that I do rate Rea ad think he has consistently been dragging that bike to do things it shouldnt. As for Suzuki, Camier got it up there now and then, maybe the new bike has some tweaks on it, be nice if they can challenge Kawasaki. |

David Salom gets a factory Kawasaki EVO bike for 2014 - seems to be lots of EVO bikes now, pity we have to wait til next year for a full grid of EVO bikes.... How much slower will an EVO bike be behind a full spec factory bike?

They will be a fair bit slower I think, but it is the better way to run long term, I also think if one of them gets a decent setup they will be up there with the quick guys at times.

I'm looking forward to next year when everyone is running EVO bikes, I reckon numbers will increase then with everyone on a level playing field.
For this year the favourite has to be Sykes and the Kawasaki followed by the Aprilia's, they'll get the most wins and podiums. The best of the rest will be between Suzuki, Honda and Ducati, they'll get a few podiums and maybe a win or two if it rains. Next will be MV Agusta, EBR and Bimota, they'll be lucky if they manage a podium all year and mostly get top tens and be racing with the privateers. |

BTW, Aprilia flirting with EVO rules - hope they will stay from 2015 onwards! http://www.sportrider.com/news/146_1...sbk_evo_class/ __________________________ Anyway, the current provisional entry list should look like this... 'Normal', non-EVO superbikes: Aprilia (factory) - Guintoli, Melandri Aprilia (Red Devils Roma) - Elias [???] BMW (Racing Team Tóth) - Tóth Ducati - Davies, Giugliano Buell (Team Hero EBR) - May, Yates Honda - Haslam, Rea Kawasaki - Baz, Sykes MV Agusta (Yaknich Motorsport) - Corti Suzuki (Crescent) - Laverty, Lowes EVO: BMW (BMW Italia) - Barrier [???] BMW (Racing Team Tóth) - Sebestyén [???] Bimota (Alstare) - Badovini, Iddon [???] Ducati (Althea) - Canepa Kawasaki (Grillini) - Fabrizio, Morais Kawasaki - Salom Kawasaki (MRS) - Guarnoni Kawasaki (Pedercini) - Andreozzi, Aitchison/Scassa [???] Kawasaki (Mahi Racing) - Foret [???] ...so it's anywhere between 20-27 riders... (plus some expected wildcards - Lanzi, Neukirchner...) |

So the red bikes are back in the factory outfit.
http://www.crash.net/wsbk/news/19976...prospects.html I like the colors but I wonder if they could get the old Xerox sponsorship back... I know Xerox wanted to continue the cooperation even after the disastrous 2010 season... Pedercini with Andreozzi and Scassa. http://www.crash.net/wsbk/news/19985...bk-riders.html Pedercini's been an underdog for years but in the EVO 'subclass' they could fight for the front. I believe ZX-10R is a weapon of choice here. Alstare Bimota's livery's been also revealed, yet their entry is still unconfirmed. http://www.crash.net/wsbk/news/19978...-at-entry.html |

Good looking bike the Bimota... Saw the Fila Ducati's the other day with Hodgson/Xaus on board at Phillip Island - that sponsorship stood out!

That's a good entry list, much better than last year. The only manufacturers missing from Superbike are Yamaha and KTM (this would have been a good year for them to join). Supersport is lacking Suzuki (as always) and Triumph (despite lots of them in BSB), although it's good to see increasing numbers of Yamaha's joining all the Kawasaki's, Honda's and MV Agusta.
Personally I hope that they let Bimota join, they're not not to be going for wins and I don't even think they would even be favourites for the EVO title. |
