It's rather concerning that there are so many people having problems with reliability. You don't see this elsewhere, certainly not to the extent we saw last weekend anyway.

Only saw race 1 but was going to comment the same... must've been 8-ish mechanical retirements? (And someone not including the Subaru!)

Perhaps the downside of buying up all the old cars cheap?

It wasn't picked up on the livestream commentary but many of the pit visitors in race 1 were for tyre related issues.

But I suspect you are right, it's the perils of running a complicated car on a budget.

These are fairly complicated cars being run on tight budgets. Many of the teams running the cars don't have much historical data to work from to know when key items need replacing. A lot of cars have changed hands too, so always lots of unknowns on component conditions.

Now the grid sizes are where they should be, the quality of the grid will start improving too but these things take time.

Not when they are stuck in a tuner sandwich.

Civic Cup I could cope with, but the rest of the timetable on both days is dominated with Time Attack and Drifting, neither of which holds any interest to me. I can't justify the time and expense for what will be barely an hour of viewing

Yeah I agree with this
Went last year to donington park and unless your into time attack and drifting it’s a waste of time and money was hoping they would come away from it this year but doesn’t seem like it

Not just me then Shame that their Brands meeting isn't one where they're supporting British GT.

Doesn't look like they're bothering to stream this afternoon's race?

The Saturday of this event is never promoted - even the (free-of-charge) programme is for Sunday only, the only evidence of there being action on the Saturday is a bit on the TCR race page where they briefly mention that "there was a race yesterday."

Myself and the 10 other spectators weren't even allowed to drive into the venue today!

Different kind of complicated. But let's face it. TCR budgets are no where near the cheapest NGTC ride. So they are run by club level teams, not the experienced and highly paid engineers the BTCC teams work with.

So did I. Would've been good to, you know, watch it...

No idea what that "debrief" bit was all about at the end. The guy sounded like he'd never seen a car race in his life.

This race they are streaming, but won't play properly for me at all. Not impressed...

The stream on YouTube and via Facebook for race 2 has been a disaster. Looked like a decent bit of racing again but pretty much unwatchable.

It seems it was Alpha who were having some data connection issues on the upload side of things. The full race can be watched on Youtube without any buffering now.

19 car entry list compared to 24 at Oulton Park.

Good news is that qualifying and the 2 Saturday races will be livestreamed.

Surprised that Subaru has made it this far!

Slightly off topic, but a nasty crash in the Civic Cup with a car rolling over the barriers out of the chicane. Driver OK.

I make that 3 cars over the Oulton Park barriers in a few months? (The other two at British GT)

It’s hardly a new phenomenon either, there’s been at least one every couple of years for some time now. Didn’t Huffy have a bad one in the SEAT Cup about 20 years back?

Castle Coombe this weekend. Hope Oulton was just a blip and we go back to over 20 entries again.

Doubt they will be there this weekend, but 2 brand new Leons have just been delivered to the UK.

Actually going to Combe on Saturday, really looking forward to it, never been to Combe before. Is there usually entry lists published for Combe meetings? I did hear that some of the cars that missed Oulton were out for repairs and will be back this week.

Just catching up with the TV rounds from Freesports, love the graphics and that, but the 360 cameras at the start make me a bit dizzy!!
