IRL passes on Surfers
So will the ACO/LMS/ALMS try to pick up this venue?? It could fit in very well with the Asian Series, with a built-in promoter(?).

That ship has sailed. Surfer's has signed a five year contract with A1GP. (All the blather was only a ploy on the part of Surfer's in negotiations with the open wheel series, there was never any serious interest in the ALMS - though Don might have liked it.) |

What could work extremely well would be a round of the World FIA GT series
on the Saturday before the Bathurst 1000, as a warm up before the top ten shootout..... Now that would make one great double header of the weekend.... |

That would be awesome except for one thing...FIA GT would be faster then the V8 Supercars and Tony Cochrane wouldn't like that one bit!! lol
I'd prefer a stand alone round anyway with Australian GT, Carrera Cup and possibly F3 supporting (if FIA GT3 didnt follow the circus downunder). |

I'll go out on a limb, and call this as stillborn in advance due to the global economy.

for a team like Toyota who want to win Le Mans would be an excellent opportunity to dispute this championship in order to gain experience for 2010.
the main goal of toyota: defeat Peugeot that perhaps win in 2009 |

Who else would enter this series? Do you see current LMS or ALMS entrants lining up to spend more money for what will basically be exhibition races? |
