Seems Ganassi moving away from Cadillac has set off another chain of events. WTR back to Cadillac and naughty Meyer Shank back to Acura?

And still no Acura/Honda for the WEC. Looks like they just don't want to pony up anything extra. I think if someone wants a couple cars that'll be the only way we will see it in the wec.

I know this is the positivity thread but as I've been saying, all signs continue to point to no future customer LMDhs from anyone other than Porsche, and likely no ARXs in the WEC.

I cannot see Acura, they are not marketed in the world other than America, so it would have to be a rebrand, would rather see an NSX in GT to be honest, I love that car.
Caddy and GM are going to be super busy and I would imagine once their F1 programmes starts the Hypercar will be cut anyway leaving the Corvette customer programme. I can see BMW eventually doing customer cars, depends on the deal WRT have, they might not want this. I can see Rossi in one in the future maybe in a VR46 team, a bit like the yellow Ferrari. |

https://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/...ing-liquid-h2/- hydrogen power coming into play again, but so far theres no regulations on it so it seems 2027 is too soon. Imo, they should save hydrogen for the next set of regulations for hypercars or whatever the class is called.

Grid increased from 37 to 40 cars to accommodate +2 AMs, +1 Lambo and +1 Caddy (all in HY). Will we see IF back in 2025?

All this time this discussion has been going I've (probably incorrectly) assumed that the JOTA 963s would go to Proton so the can have their 2 car entries (one in WEC, one in IMSA). Do we really need more than 4 Porsches on the grid? Not in my opinion. |

Deos anyone know the chassis and base tubs for the Hypercars.
I think Caddy and Ferrari use Dallara, presume Toyota and Porsche, Peugeot use their own, I think Porsche is UK made by the folks that did the Ford GT stuff, what about Alpine, oreca I guess? Vanwall? BMW is that Dallara? |

LMH
Toyota - In-house built. Ferrari - in house built, with assistance from Dallara. Isotta Fraschini - designed in-house, manufactured by Michelotto, assembled by IF. Peugeot - designed, manufactured, and assembled in-house by Peugeot. LMDh Porsche - chassis manufactured by MultiMatic. BMW & Cadillac - chassis built by Dallara (no connection with Ferrari chassis). Alpine & Acura(Honda) - chassis built by Oreca. Lamborghini - chassis built by Ligier. That's what's running this season. Add in Aston Martin for '25, which is designed and built in-house with assistance of MultiMatic. |

Pretty sure IF's chassis is designed by Michelotto. And from what I read the LMH chassis for Ferrari isn't as much unrelated to the LMDh one for BMW and Caddy as Ferrari would like it to be

I would suggest the same on all the Dalaras. There are some very big similarities when you see parts of the tubs without bodywork

McLaren still flirting with hypercar without making a commitment of any sort. That's the second time Brown has been quoted as saying it's "when not if." Feels like they've been linked for about a decade at this point! Clearly not a priority for them compared to other series, but hopefully now they have representation in the WEC paddock it will start to help build the case for it internally. |
